I love that my school has a meditation room, so when I have some down time I can get away and meditate. It is small and simple but just perfect! You don’t need to find a crystal clear lake surrounded by mountains or a waterfall to be able to meditate. Look around at your job, or maybe a small corner in your house, you might find a spot. Beauty comes from within, once you close your eyes nothing around really matters… :)

After some weeks of a lot of studying, final exams and little sleep, my mind and nervous system needed a reset! Took my bike, went into nature and meditated* under a tree while listening to the Humber river… so grateful! 😌

Hello everyone! We are back!!
After 6 weeks of being out on a trip, I’m back with renewed energy and eager to resume my activities with Health & Harmony. The Cherry blossoms gave us a beautiful welcome, what a blessing! 😌
We can strongly feel this spring energy, a fire that ‘springs’ up and drives us… a wonderful energy!
We will be returning to our usual sound baths that we will post here, and individual sessions with me every Saturday if you haven’t tried it yet or if you want another tune up 😉

On the right an angiography of the Internal Carotid Artery (the main artery that goes into the skull and provides blood to our brain), and on the left a beautiful tree I saw last month in Kingston… that made me think of and angiography 😅

I would always encourage people to take up their own practice, but if you’ve never done it and you want to have a little glimpse of how meditation feels like, a Sound Bath could be a good option to experience that 😉. During a session, brainwaves can reach the same frequency level as that during a meditation.
In this picture I’m doing the Falun Dafa meditation. Falun Dafa is a mind-body qigong practice that really helped me to improve my character and physical health. Really grateful for it 🙏🏼
But if there’s something that I learnt from it, is that meditation alone doesn’t work 🤔. Our mind is a reflection of our hearts. We have to work on ourselves first by improving our character and let go our selfishness. Then compassion will arise with a lighter heart. This way you’ll experience a peaceful mind not only during meditation but also beyond it. That’s my own understanding so far anyway. 🙌

Tuning into winter ❄️
TIPS for Acid Reflux.🙌
The key is in maintaining a healthy digestion, as most of the time acid reflux is due to a weak digestive fire.
Of course, there can be multiple reasons for acid reflux that need to be properly diagnosed, so if you are having persistent symptoms, go see your doctor.👩⚕️

Did you know that acid reflux is related to a weak digestion most of the time? 🤔
An impaired digestion, whether it is hypoacidity or an overwhelmed stomach after overeating, makes the food we eat sit longer, in the stomach causing the acid to regurgitate!
Most people think that acid reflux is caused by excess acid secretions.
So what many people do when they have acid reflux is take an over-the-counter antacid like Tums to alleviate the feeling of heartburn, and control that 'extra' acid. What can actually happen is that over time, these antacids keep compromising the already weak digestive fire. If you need to take them often, you are not actually addressing the cause.
Taking an antacid is like putting a blanket over the fire - we extinguish our acids and prevent the stomach from properly digesting that food that is sitting in there.
We need healthy gastric secretions (including acid secretions) to digest our food properly…
What can we do about it? I'll address this in a future post 😉

Let’s chat about ROOT CHAKRA and reducing anxiety with Sound Therapy 😌
The Root Chakra is the first of the seven chakras. It’s associated with survival, and survival is associated with the most basic human needs. When survival is threatened, it causes many fears: fear of scarcity, of loss, of not being protected. Anxiety can be a result of these fears.
Anxiety is a constant state when feeling endangered (whether realistic or not) by the outside world; the fight/flight response is activated at all times. This is EXHAUSTING. 😓
Balancing our first chakra can help us to ground ourselves in our environment, find safety in our surroundings and our own mind and body, thus reducing this anxiety and giving us new confidence, patience and acceptance.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🙏🍂
We say this every year when celebrating this holiday. But trying to live life being thankful can be challenging sometimes - think how many times we forget to be thankful for all the people and things we have around us.
I find that being grateful makes me happier. In fact, some research done on the subject shows that people who are grateful are the happiest.
This quote from the monk David Steindl-Rast truly resonates with me: “It is not happiness that makes us grateful” but “gratefulness that makes us happy”.
For our next Sound Bath Meditation we would like to focus on Gratitude… and this will take us on a deep journey into the Heart Chakra where gratefulness happens. 😌

When a dulcimer meets a tibetan singing bowl this can happen! This has been an amazing incorporation to our Sound Baths by the great Melissa Morris
The name “dulcimer” actually comes from latin 'dulce melos' that means ‘sweet songs or melodies' . 🎶😌 It is very pleasant and relaxing, which makes it perfect for a Sound Bath.
This is just a warm up for our next Sound Bath Meditation Session for this month!

The Second Chakra, or Sacral Chakra, is associated with the color orange and with the fluidity of water. In Sanskrit, Svadhisthana means the “dwelling of the self”.
Part of this energy center is sensuality (understood as the awakening of the senses) through which we honor our physical being and perceive the world, allowing us to feel connected to life. If the first chakra is the vital force, the second chakra is constant energy in movement and creation.
When balanced it gives us the ability to be present and be amazed by the world. It keeps our emotions in check and our relationships strong and stable, as it helps to empathize with others.
Tonight, the Sacral Chakra will be my focus in my Sound bath trying to bring balance back to emotions and strengthening connections with other Chakras in the body. It will be a time to reflect together.
