This past Saturday, we proudly held our last Award Holder Celebration of 2024 in Ottawa recognizing 27 remarkable Gold Award recipients! The Duke of Edinburgh's Award's Secretary General, Martin Houghton-Brown alongside Award Canada Chair, Amy Langhorne presented the Gold Award certificates, honouring each recipient’s dedication to personal growth, skill-building, and community service.
A special thank you to our inspiring Human Library—Bibi Hakim, Thomas Morin-Cabana, Hamza Alsaied, Daniel Caine, and Fahd Alhattab—who shared their Award experiences and insights, adding meaning and inspiration to the celebration for all in attendance.
As we wrap up our Celebrations for this year, we extend our warmest congratulations to all Award recipients recognized across Canada. Stay tuned for updates on next year’s Celebrations—we can’t wait to continue celebrating youth achievement with the community!

We proudly kicked off with flag-raising ceremonies in Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia, celebrating the spirit of the Award across Canada. These local ceremonies are a powerful way to recognize the achievements of young people within their communities, while also reinforcing our national mission to empower youth through the Award. As a national organization, it's inspiring to see the impact we’re making at both local and national levels.

On September 28th, we had the honour of celebrating 17 Gold Award recipients at the Award Holder Celebration hosted at Government House in Calgary. 🥇✨ A heartfelt thank you to Her Honour, The Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, for her inspiring words and for graciously hosting this special event.
We also want to extend our gratitude to the incredible Human Library, Amy Skinner, Tara Mutter, Robert Newton in attendance—Award Alumni who generously shared their stories and experiences with our Gold Award recipients and guests. Your insights and journeys continue to inspire the next generation of leaders!

Award Canada’s Co-curricular Pilot Program is helping students build their portfolios and earn certifications while they complete their Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) diploma.
Through this pilot, students can enhance their SHSM experience by developing key skills and reflecting on their learning. It’s an opportunity for young people to celebrate their achievements and gain additional recognition for the hard work they’re already doing.
