Meet Kennedy our new in house vegan and GF baker creating all of [y]our favourite treats for any occasions in need of a Good vegan/ GF treat. 🥰

Kennedy, is a young woman who started her business in 2020 KNEAD IT BAKED. Half Filipino and half Jamaican. Before the pandemic, she worked two part-time jobs, both of which she lost at the onset of the first wave.
"I had always found solace in spending my time baking but starting a business amid a global crisis was something I was hesitant about. Now, 1 year into my business venture, I not only use my platform to spread happiness to others through cookie consumption, but I also advocate for anti-racist feminist issues which have made Knead It Baked blossom into a pretty cool passion project. Percentages of my profits also get donated to different organizations monthly.

Year 4! It is almost unbelievable how fast time seems to be flying by. In a few days, February 11th will be the beginning of our 4th year at this location. But in answer to a recurring question. The cafe concept has been many years in the making and the first iteration occurred at the Carlaw KA SPACE thus the name.
We love our neighborhood for all that it has to offer.
As Kevin loves to remind us at ALLWOOD. You cannot know where you are going until you reconcile with where you have been.

ANOTHER REASON TO LOVE BRAZIL
Originating in Brazil, the acai bowl is a hands-down favorite of health seekers. The original version is made from acai palm fruit that is pureed and served as a smoothie, usually in a bowl, or glass.
The Brazillian version is not that different than what you will find in KA CAFE. In Brazil, the bowls are typically topped with granola, banana, and syrup.
We are doing our taste testing and will bring a bit of Brazil to the east side soon.
