Meet our Executive Sous Chef, Diego Duncan Gomez!
Born in the vibrant city of Monterrey, Mexico, Chef Diego has been passionate about cooking from a young age. He began his culinary journey at just 16, starting out as a barista and server in his parents’ coffee shop. This experience sparked his interest in the culinary arts, leading him to pursue formal training at a culinary school.
After honing his skills in various restaurants and bars in Monterrey, Diego made a significant leap in his career with stints at and a four-year tenure as a chef de cuisine at , where he managed their Latin-themed specialty restaurant.
New to Canada since July 2023, Diego initially joined the team at as a sous chef. Just nine months later, his exceptional talent has earned him a promotion to join us here at Honey Salt. We’re thrilled to have Chef Diego!

Iconic, eccentric and alternative, his art has been mainly focused drawings and photography. The concept: Paint a wall, take a picture of it while a skateboarder flies over it, make an exhibition with the photographs!
