Synchronized swimming team for men, Catherine Deneuve singing in the rain, Tati (aka Monsieur Hulot) wandering in an ultra-modern suburban house, love and horror stories with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars in Paris: French comedy has it all!

The Department of Modern Languages is excited to present Paris je t’aime (Comedy/Drama, 2006, 1h33), come Thursday October 19 at 5pm (Room A218). Screening will be in French with English subtitles. Everyone is welcome!

This will be the first of a series of four French film screenings: “Paris je t’aime” (Paris I love you, Oct 19), “Les Parapluies de Cherbourg” (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Nov 2), “Mon oncle” (My Uncle, Nov 16) and “Le Grand bain” (Sink or swim, Nov 30). Through these screenings, you’ll get a taste of French-language cinema and music, and its unique sense of humour.

We will open up discussions among students, staff, and faculty after each screening, and will provide some tasty treats!

These screenings are supported by the Federal French Grant from the Ministry of Education, with the purpose of promoting the French language and Francophone cultures.
