he is truly one of the best people I know. caring, kind, hilarious and genuine, he always goes out of his way to make other's smile.
I drew him with his puppy, Willow - who is always tail-waggin' by his side and excited to see the parks he takes her to.

It's been over a month since I've posted.
My mental health hasn't been the greatest - and the drive to create has been lying dormant while I try to heal my wounds, but I miss creating and sharing it with the world -
So I decided to just draw something, it didn't have to be perfect or polished - in fact I started and finished this in a day!

But it's a piece of artwork. It's better than letting my river run dry.
So, this is "Ophelia".
I will be trying to make more little pieces to keep the energy flowing, even if I can't commit to my bigger concepts and projects.

I designed this as a gift to Nicolas Twiddy, who is a person very much alive in the hearts and souls of so many people.

He was one of my closest friends when I was younger. It's such a sensitive topic, because he really was someone who I connected with better than most. We shared so many stories and spent a lot of time wandering around, adventuring, getting into trouble, and having conversations that felt like they'd never end.

Nic has always been there in my soul.

The day he passed and I found out, I ran to the school washroom out of class, put on Christina Perri and cried. None of it felt real - and honestly it still doesn't feel right at all. Death never does.

This year, last night - April 9th, marks the 8 year point of his passing. I am familiar with death, a lot of people close to me have died far too young. But none of them get easier.

I remember silly MSN conversations late into the night back when we were basically kids. Skype calls, sneaking out just to walk around. Long drawn out conversations with you hangin' out the window, me sitting under the tree in your yard. You convinced me to trade you my favorite orange hoodie that I never got back. :P
You are special and will always be. So very fricking special.

You touched the hearts of SO MANY PEOPLE and to this day your legacy lives on strong - to love unconditionally, embrace the weird, appreciate what we have... And know that chaos can still be beautiful.

Now, the purpose of this image itself.

I wanted to draw a potential of what Nic could look like if he was still here today - at age 23.

This is one of many interpretations - as Nic would have made his own choices in fashion and lifestyle. There are thousands of possibilities he may have grown into... But This is the image I sensed him urge me to create. He is okay. He is happy and feels the love. This is how I was inspired to express him.

The little sweet dinosaur beside Nic is actually heavily inspired off of Symph Blanchette's tattoo she got long ago for Nic.
A sweet lil dinosaur - except I drew them as if they also grew alongside Nic as the years passed!

Everyone cares about you so much, lil Dragonfly. We miss you and I'm grateful to have been influenced by our connection throughout my life.

Welp. It's 5 in the morning, and I spent most of yesterday - and all of from midnight until now, finishing this project. I have a speedpaint recorded that I need to render and clip together, soon - Had to pause the recordings/art every ~5 minutes to just let myself cry and digest too many feelings. SO MANY FEELINGS.
