I mean, I always knew there were unexpected benefits to vocal coaching. 🎤 Full transparency: I did not particularly expect improved dental outcomes to be one of them.
But I always love hearing from TVL Alumni, getting updates on what they're up to, new musical projects....and....dental work. 🦷 🎸🤣

TVL STUDIOS CLIENT & ALUMNI NEW MUSIC ALERT!!
I had the pleasure of working with for a stretch as he transitioned back into music full time. He’s been hard at work, building his original catalogue, and this upcoming single was written with Jeff Johnson, and then recorded in Nashville. This single drops on August 23, and you can pre-save it at the link in my stories, or on Jonathan’s profile.
Pro-tip: Did you know that when you’re trying to build momentum, pre-saves matter? They can increase the chances of getting added to premium playlists, which in turn can have a huge impact on your numbers! So there’s a good reason artists work hard for your pre-save clicks before the music hits your ears. 🎧🎵
My colleague Jess Baldwin of has released her new book!! Her fabulous workbook is designed to help singers take their whole self into account as they craft their sound and style. It’s something artists can use on their own, or work through together with their coach as part of their artistic development process. It’s appropriate for people ages 13+.
🎵 If you’re not familiar with Jess or her work, first off, do yourself a favour and go follow her!
🎙️ Second, you can check out her interview on episodes 53 & 54 of to get to know Jess and her work better.
📒And third, go check out her book! It’s available at her website. (I know this won’t be a live link, but for ease, her website is truecolorscreativity.com)
Full moon in my favourite place on earth. ❤️🌕

Happy Mother’s Day to my other-mother-half. 🌸
Sara, I am very grateful to have shared mothering our collective brood with you for all these years (are we coming up on 17 years now?) The role of a step parent isn’t always an easy one, but I always knew that at the heart of it, you only ever wanted the best for the kids, even when our pathways to that end may have differed. And I will forever be grateful that you and Trevanna have included me in P’s life, and allowed me to be her chosen “stepmom.”
I know not everyone is lucky enough to have a great co-parenting relationship with their ex’s spouse or spouse’s ex. But I think we scored big, and I’m really happy you’re part of all our lives. ❤️

🎙️ In Part 2 of my conversation with Carrie Tennant, founder of the Vancouver Youth Choir, she shares how discovering the power of physical expression transformed her as a young musician. 🎶✨ “The whole orchestra breathed together, moved and leaned in, and I was like a total joiner, so I just followed. That’s when I realized that being physically invested in the music isn’t showing off; it makes the music better.”
Carrie’s journey led her to create a choral organization focused on joy, authenticity, and inclusivity. At VYC, they offer programs like the VYC Concert Bursary Program, providing free tickets and transportation to concerts for students, and VYC Kindred, an Indigenous music and drumming program for newcomer youth. 🥁
Highlights from this episode:
🌟 A diverse repertoire that includes music from underrepresented communities
🌟 Two curated choral series amplifying diverse voices
🌟 Encouraging vulnerability and audience connection through physical expression
