Japan is opening its border to non-Japanese from Oct 11th, YES, it is official!
So glad we are finally able to show its beauty to whom want to enjoy and learn from our culture.

One of our new routines when travelling is to check local artisans.
In Japan, we have signature food and items that are known in every prefecture.

Tokyo - Monjya yaki, pan fried batter
Oosaka - Okonomi yaki, our favorite pancake
Ehime - Oranges
Saga - Arita porcelain

Every prefecture has its unique story of its region. We love diving into that and immersing in their culture fully.
Looking and learning what is offered locally always opens up our perspectives.

Part. 3 MAYOKE

魔除け(Mayoke) means protection from unwanted energy.

This is one of our products that is currently under development.

We are mutable, transforming and adapting ourselves every day to be the better version of ourselves and we wanted to re: create a product that is fully aligned with us now.

Our analytics shows that most of our supporters are between 30 - 40 years old with an Asian background, so we have decided to incorporate Eastern herb into this project.

One of the ingredients that will be added is Aniseed, an oldest known spice that has been in use since the fourteenth century. Known for its licorice flavour in food and drink, but there are also incredible health benefits.

We cannot wait to present to you this new version of MAYOKE this coming winter!

Part.2 AMULET

One of our favourite services offered at PAMPERED, our mobile nail service, is foot shampoo. Washing your feet with a light and refreshing cleanser, AMULET.

The temizuya, water basin, at the entrance to the shrine's innermost grounds is a place to purify the body before entering. Here visitors wash their hands and mouth with the cool, flowing water in an act of ritual purification.

Cleaning feet with foamy soap is not only refreshing and relaxing, it also cleans the mind spiritually while connecting through physical touch.

Intension for making AMULET is to be mindful for the environment. It is made with organic ingredients, river and ocean friendly, also they are multi pulpose, hair to body. Organic coconut oil creates rich and creamy foam to make your skin feel nurished.

We also recommend LET’S GO CAMPING for dish to body soap while you are enjoying the outdoor life!

Part.1 OMAMORI

御守り Omamori is directly translated as protection and is known to provide various forms of luck.

Anything can be Omamori if you put intention or meaning to it. Mami carries around Omikuji which is a lucky fortune written on strips of paper. (Swipe to see what she’s got!)

Omamori is essentially prayers or sacred inscriptions inside small, colourful brocade pouches for love, long life, and success in business and nowadays we have ones for furry friends.

As teenagers, we would go to the temple to buy pink Omamori that’s for love and romance.
When we came to Canada, we were given safe travel Omamori for safe arrival and adventure.

They are much more a part of everyday life to give each other physical prayers.

We wanted to create something that can be skin nourishing but also has a strong intention that’s tied to this mindset.

Pure essential oil blends in OMAMORI are Lavender, Chamomile and Frankincense. Blends of oils have been used for centuries to keep away intruders, ward off evil spirits and keep unwanted out of sight.

It is literally a botanical blessing for nails, skin and hair that can be carried with you all the time.

Our packaging for the big bar soap is one example. We currently have ongoing projects that require the soap to be wrapped fully.

Thanks to our friends who shared their origami techniques, we have a new custom package that meets the demand and still aligns with our philosophy.

Opportunity comes when make space in our hearts.

Dethatching from old beliefs/routines is not easy but we have decided to go with peace and flow - not chasing after a project that only brings us temporary ease and does not align with our deep desires.

Surprisingly, soon after we made that shift in our direction, we started to see the lights in business opportunities. Not only decision making was flawless, but we were also given different opportunities to pursue our goals.

One of the memorable projects that we are still grateful for is when we were invited to the photoshoot of the new opening of Alouette Bistro, Classic French Bistro Fare in downtown Vancouver.

The vibe was so uplifting, filled with energy - everyone who was invited was like a family! We definitely felt the harmony being in it.

We would like to thank all of the staff members including Chef Albert Tran and General Manager Mark Featherstone who allowed us to be open to all that is possible in our lives and of course lavender paloma!

What we did not realize when we started this business was our work is an extension of our beliefs.

Dispose of soapy water at the campsite?

It is recommended you pour it into a cathole that is 6 to 8 inches deep and 200 feet away from water sources.

Doing so has a couple benefits:

1. It lessens the attraction of wildlife as compared to the “broadcast method” which also broadcasts the smell.

2. It allows bacteria in the soil to biodegrade the soap

Nature gives us abundance so we give back what we have respectfully.
