🧡 Imagine finding hurtful content about yourself daily, targeting something you can't change. Over the past decade, we've made progress in promoting inclusion, but research from Kantar Social Listening paints a troubling picture. 😔

📊 Kantar analyzed nearly 50 million social media posts in the U.S. over 2 years about individuals with intellectual disabilities. The findings? Over two-thirds were negative, and almost 29 million included hurtful slurs like the R-word or terms ending in “-tard.”

We must do better. Words can hurt. Choose them wisely and advocate for respect and kindness. 💬🙏

Children and young people with disabilities often face exclusion, stigmatization, and barriers to full participation in their communities. This marginalization not only affects their daily lives but also places them at a higher risk for grooming, online solicitation, and sexual harassment. 👶💔

It’s essential that we recognize these vulnerabilities and work tirelessly to create safer environments for all. By raising awareness, educating our communities, and advocating for stronger protections, we can help ensure that every child and young person is safe and supported. 🛡️🌟

Whether it’s deepfake content, nonconsensual recording or sharing of explicit imagery, extortion or blackmail based on images, recorded sexual abuse, or its many other manifestations — can feel like something that happens to “others.” It’s a headline we scroll past.
