Hello everyone! It’s my Birthday today, so in keeping with my yearly tradition I will share 10 things about me that you might not know! Good thing I only do this once a year, I am running out of interesting things!
1) I have two daughters, an almost 2 year old and a 3.5 year old, and they love to paint; they beg me to come to work and when I bring them they will stand and paint with me for as long as possible.
2) along with an ice coffee (w/milk & no sugar) on my way to a job site I always order 2 or 3 single chocolate Tim Bits from Tim Hortons, they are $.25 each in case you were wondering
3) I’m a self taught artist, and I am still learning. My style changes and evolves every year and I think it’s so cool to look back on older murals also, I can’t wait so see what I’m capable of in the future!
4) I purchase 16 black crewneck sweaters, 16 black tights and 8 black tank tops every year branded with my name/logo and that is all I wear on rotation. (The tights are not branded, but now that I think of it, maybe they should be… it’s a write off right?!?)
5) I am the youngest of 4 kids and I became an auntie in 8th grade, I have 13 nieces/nephews
6) I binge podcasts while I paint, currently listening to The Girls Next level, Smart-less, Bad Dates, Crime Ju**ie and Armchair experts
7) I broke my front tooth in half when I was a kid attempting a triple Salchow (a figure skating move) never had a single skating lesson in my life so my confidence was wildly inflated also I was on a frozen puddle in my backyard
8 ) I am an incredibly awkward human being and I find small talk difficult, so sometimes when I am approached while painting I can only manage so squeak out something like “oh yes, it’s coming along…” or “hahaha…yes I painted this” so if you have approached me I appreciate you and I apologize.
9) I have been with my husband for 15 years and I can honestly say he is the reason I am able to paint and stay focused on art, because he handles everything else in our lives, so special Thank you shout out to him!
10) I have painted 6 murals in my home and one of them is the Simpsons mural that went viral with over 100 million views last year!
