While conventional medicine has been there for many decades and has its own advantages, there are many instances where it falls short or fails to address the problem successfully. However, there are various alternative medical and healing systems like Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Acupuncture etc., built on top of solid foundations and logic, and having proven results for many decades. In this case, Curaveda ("Cura" that stands for "Healing", but also "Curacao", and "Veda" that stands for "Knowledge") aims to bring knowledge and reliable information about Ayurveda to the community of Curacao in order for people to make informed health care decisions. Ayurveda, the sacred knowledge (Veda) of life (Ayur), is the oldest medical system in the world, dating back more than 5.000 years ago. It is believed to have provided the foundation for all other alternative disciplines thereafter. Ayurveda first of all emphasizes on the prevention of disease and deterioration of the body through precise and precautionary measures. Secondly, Ayurveda aims at treating and curing the body of its already existing ailments.
