⁠The entire interior is made from steel plate (6mm thick, welded onsite) – a paper model come to life. The steel bends under its own weight, both solid and extremely fragile, as it leans against itself and the existing concrete. The satin white surface serves as a backdrop for FLOS fixtures or reflects the light projected from a changing array of FLOS products. Ultimately, while the space provides a plethora of surfaces for the light to play on, there remains an openness to the arrangement of thin planes.⁠

modulorbeat, Blaue Stunde, 2022, Spreepark Berlin.

Transformation der Mero-Halle im Spreepark Berlin - Für die Zwischennutzung hat modulorbeat die Rauminstallation Blaue Stunde in der Mero-Halle, dem ehemaligen Schnellrestaurant und Vergnügungsort des Spreeparks, entworfen. Die Blaue Stunde als Phänomen der Dämmerung steht dabei auch als Metapher für Transformation und Veränderung im sich wandelnden Park. Die künstlerische Neuinterpretation nutzt den Bestand der Mero-Halle als Ausgangspunkt und Ressource für die Entwicklung eines neuen hybriden Ortes. Die bestehende Tragwerkskonstruktion mit den namengebenden MERO-Knoten wurde ertüchtigt und durch einen blauen Korrosionsschutz ergänzt. Die Struktur des Daches und seine Schattenwürfe wurden für die Transformation der Halle aufgegriffen und sind in den Elementen der Installation wieder zu finden. Bänke laden zum Verweilen, zum Zuschauen und -hören ein. Teilüberdachungen schützen vor Regen oder Hitze, verändern aber auch den Blick in den Himmel und spielen mit Licht und Schatten. Die Vorhangelemente, die einzelne Sektionen innerhalb der Halle bilden, thematisieren die Grenze zwischen Innen und Außen. So entsteht ein Multifunktionsraum, der unterschiedliche Programmnutzungen zulässt und neue Formate der Begegnung ermöglicht.

Last year we build a shelf - thanks to Hütten und Paläste it was a big one. Our DIN1090 certification allows us to build steel structures up to 12 floors and even bridges. Don’t hesitate to get in contact, if you need strong weldings.⁠
