Media Loca 15 Years, Day 3 (Ilpo Väisänen, Mimicof) @ Galiläa-Kirche Berlin: Samstag 29.06.

Ilpo Vaesaenen,I-LP-O IN DUB verwendet analoge Keyboards und selbstgebaute Oszillatoren, um Klanglandschaften zu schaffen. Im Zeitalter digitaler Omnipräsenz ist seine Wahl der Mittel eine Herausforderung, ja eine Provokation. Er steht für intelligente und zugleich physische elektronische Musik, für raue Experimente und für einen sehr tiefen Bass.

MimiCof ist das Pseudonym von Midori Hirano, mit dem sie elektronische Klangwelten erforscht, sei es mit dem EMS Synthi 100 aus dem Electronic Studio Radio Belgrade, basierend auf Fieldrecordings oder als Symbiose aus eigenen Klaviersounds und dem Modularsynthesizer.

ILPO VÄISÄNEN und MIMICOF spielen jeweils ein kurzes Solo und freuen sich im Anschluss auf eine gemeinsame Improvisation!

Die Multimedia-Künstlerin und Sounddesignerin Daniela Huerta hat unter dem Namen Baby Vulture eine eigene, vielschichtige und eklektische Form des Auflegens entwickelt.
Als Live-Performerin bewegt sie sich zwischen dem Realen und dem Imaginären. Sie komponiert hyperrealistische Klanglandschaften, indem sie Feldaufnahmen, Klangarchive, dekonstruierte Rhythmen und Live-Sampling kombiniert.

Als multidisziplinäre Künstlerin arbeitet Concepcion Huerta mit verschiedenen Disziplinen wie Sounddesign, Installation und Performance und erforscht die Beziehung zwischen Stille und Lärm, politischem Raum und dem Klangkörper als Ausdrucksform. Sie beschäftigt sich mit Resonanz, akustischem Raum und den physischen und psychologischen Auswirkungen von Klang.

Als HUERTA ENSAMBLE haben Daniela Huerta und Concepción Huerta 2023 gemeinsam AQVA veröffentlicht.
Anlässlich des Media Loca-Jubiläums werden die beiden Musikerinnen ein komplett neues Duo-Set aufführen.

Für diesen Abend wird ein 4-Kanal-Lautsprechersystem verwendet.

Media Loca 15 years - Day 2 @ Silent Green, Kuppelhalle: Friday, 28.06.

Multimedia artist and sound designer Daniela Huerta has developed her own multi-layered and eclectic form of DJing under the name Baby Vulture.
As a live performer, she moves between the real and the imaginary. She composes hyper-realistic soundscapes by combining field recordings, sound archives, deconstructed rhythms and live sampling.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Concepción Huerta works with different disciplines such as sound design, installation and performance, exploring the relationship between silence and noise, political space and the sound body as a form of expression. She is working with resonance, acoustic space and the physical and psychological effects of sound.

As HUERTA ENSAMBLE, Daniela Huerta and Concepción Huerta released AQVA together in 2023.
On the occasion of the Media Loca anniversary, the two musicians will perform a completely new set.

A 4-channel loudspeaker system will be used for this evening.

Jasmine Guffond ist eine Künstlerin und Komponistin an der Schnittstelle von sozialen, politischen und technischen Infrastrukturen. Sie konzentriert sich auf elektronische Komposition in Musik- und Kunstkontexten und arbeitet mit Live-Performances, Recordings, Installationen und Browser-Add-ons. Durch die Sonifizierung von Daten erforscht sie das Potenzial von Klang für die Auseinandersetzung mit zeitgenössischen politischen Themen und beschäftigt sich mit dem Zuhören als einer Praxis des situierten Wissens. Zudem unterrichtet sie im Masterstudiengang Sound Studies an der UdK Berlin.

Für diesen Abend wird ein 4-Kanal-Lautsprechersystem verwendet.

JASMINE GUFFOND is an artist and composer working at the intersection of social, political and technical infrastructures. She focuses on electronic composition in music and art contexts, working with live performances, recordings, installations and browser add-ons. Through the sonification of data, she explores the potential of sound to address contemporary political issues and engages with listening as a practice of situated knowledge. She also teaches in the Master's program Sound Studies at the UdK Berlin.

ist seit Ende der 1990er Jahre eine faszinierende Figur der Berliner Electronica-Szene und gilt als Pionier des Micro-House und der Clicks & Cuts-Effekte. Durch die Verwendung von abgemischten Samples alter Rock- und Jazzplatten sowie Transformationen von Klangfragmenten aus verschiedenen Aufnahmegeräten erschafft er beeindruckende elektronische Klangcollagen. Seine Werke reichen von Field-Recording-Collagen über elektroakustische Musik bis hin zu minimalistischem Drone. Alle seine Kompositionen werden live aus Samples und Klangfragmenten zusammengesetzt, um abstrakte, sich wiederholende Schleifen zu kreieren und neues Leben zu verleihen.

Für diesen Abend wird ein 4-Kanal-Lautsprechersystem verwendet.

has been a fascinating figure in the Berlin electronica scene since the late 1990s and is considered a pioneer of micro-house and clicks & cuts effects. By using mixed samples from old rock and jazz records and transforming sound fragments from various recording devices, he creates impressive electronic sound collages. His works range from field recording collages to electro-acoustic music and minimalist drone. All his compositions are assembled live from samples and sound fragments to create abstract, repetitive loops and give them new life.

In ihrem experimentellen Live-Set verwendet Mieko Suzuki zerbrochene und präparierte Schallplatten, Plattenspieler und Effektpedale, wobei sie dynamische und bassbetonte Klangtexturen schafft, die sowohl im Noise als auch in der elektronischen Musik verwurzelt sind. Claudia Rohrmoser verwandelt Standbilder von Mieko Suzukis Tonbandaufnahmen und Vinylfragmenten in ein klares visuelles Universum. Die digitalen Bilder rotieren mit unterschiedlichen Geschwindigkeiten, genauso wie sich Vinyl auf einem Plattenteller bewegt.

In her experimental live set, Mieko Suzuki uses broken and prepared records, turntables and effects pedals, creating dynamic and bass-driven sound textures rooted in both noise and electronic music. Claudia Rohrmoser transforms still images of Mieko Suzuki's tape recordings and vinyl fragments into a clear visual universe. The digital images rotate at different speeds, just as vinyl moves on a turntable.

Mittlerweile hat sie 14 Alben veröffentlicht, unter anderem auf Gudrun Guts Label Monika Enterprise und auf dem australischen Label Room40. Ihr letztes Album Spines, erschienen auf dem Label CES Records, strahlt eine einzigartige Dynamik aus.

The Georgian artist, composer and songwriter Natalie Beridze is considered a pioneer of Georgia's electronic music. She has released 14 albums to date, including on Gudrun Gut's label Monika Enterprise and on the Australian label Room40. Her latest album Spines, released on the CES Records label, radiates a unique dynamic.

Sie erinnern an Free Jazz ebenso wie an Pierre Henry, einen der Pioniere der Musique Concrete, und gipfelt in purer Ekstase.
