In cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, Taltech is organising the NextGen DigiGov Hackathon for students 8-9 June 2023 at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Mektory (Raja 15, Tallinn). At Hackathon, we look for sustainable digital solutions through students' ideas. Thus, we also would like to invite students from Tallinn University to present their bright ideas or just to participate. :)

As some of you know, Ludum Dare, one of the world's largest game jams, will be taking place this weekend (April 29-30). While Ludum Dare is mainly an online event, we have booked a space at the university for the weekend and would like to invite those of you interested in participating to join us there and make videogames together. Taking part in the on-site jam can be a more social and collaborative experience than doing it online.

We will start at 9am on Saturday with an announcement of the theme and team formation and then proceed to work over the weekend. Mentors will be available on site in case you'd like input and feedback. You will need to bring your own equipment and are encouraged to bring snacks and drinks as well.

AI is helping US Air Force to decide which targets to strike The US Air Force has used an AI as part of its "kill chain" - the process of gathering intelligence and directing weapons to destroy a target - though details of the incident are limited

President K. Kaljulaid today to Estonian Parliament said she is concerned that the decisions Parliament has made go beyond the e-state 1.0 agreement of personal data usage, for example regarding using the data of NEET-youth for predicting their behaviours to support them, or using the data from databases for other purposes than the permission was given. However what concerns me is that she sees the solution to update the e-state agreement to 2.0 that would permit using such data for service development.
