Are you a creative communicator with strong writing, social media, and project management skills? Planet Tastes are looking for a Brand Communications Intern to join our team! We are looking for a high-energy, hard-working communications intern who values collaboration, teamwork and making a difference at our company. Planet Tastes is a unique speciality store bringing the largest range of authentic food and groceries from Europe, Africa and Asia. We love thinking smart, innovating and moving fast to solve problems.

You’ll work closely with the rest of our Communications team to help build awareness and reputation for the Planet Tastes brand, through media relations, influencers and social media. If you are seeking a well-rounded communications internship, and have a desire to experience working at a start-up, this may be the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Support and advance the Company's brand with digital audiences through the creative development and ex*****on of effective social media strategies and content.
- Regularly review industry information to develop best practices for branding, social media and communications.
- Collaborate on the development of the social media strategy and lead implementation including creating and managing the social media content calendar and writing content and posts for digital channels.
- Develop an editorial calendar with compelling and engaging social media communications programs and materials using a variety of media including digital, video, visual and presentations.
- Perform daily management of social media platforms to include posting relevant content and engaging digital audiences.
- Analyze the engagement rate of posts and advertising campaigns on social media platforms.
- Utilizes results to inform on methods or tools for further posts and/or campaigns.
- Partner closely with Brand Marketing colleagues on content development and sharing of content, creation of communication materials, and adherence to brand standards.
- Support the development of newsletter articles, emails and other written communications using creative design elements to help translate organizational and strategic messages.
- Actively support the brand through participation on cross-functional committees and bring innovative ideas forward for engaging digital audiences through communications.
- Stay current on advances in technology, style, and color in the design industry and bring forward ideas to further enhance communication tools and processes.
- Come up with new, fresh ideas that help meet our company, recruiting, and diversity & inclusion goals
- Build a company “ambassadors” program that showcases our individual employees and their stories.
- Apply your knowledge in communications by working with Marketing, Sales, Creative & Design departments in development of collateral, packaging, digital brand assets, ensuring consistent brand communication across all channels.

- Avid social media user (specifically Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube)
- Ability to work across teams to build relationships and trust with a broad range of individuals across the organization.

BONUS POINTS IF:

- You have prior internship experience
- Familiarity with editing tools such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro
- Passion for Design and Video

DURATION:

This position will require up to 30-40 hours per week .
