Great to get another kilt walk done this year. I wanted to put a final shout out to Perry. He’s been smashing it, training hard in preparation for this walk and managed to lose 35kg in the process (and I know he’s not done yet💪)

Unfortunately he injured his hand so he couldn’t manage the drive up from Nottingham. But he still managed to do a 18mile walk by himself. 🫡

All the guys put an absolute shift in. We managed to raise about £600 for so thanks to everyone who sponsored us.❤️

I haven’t posted anything in a long time and it’s got a few people asking if I’m still doing fat man club. Absolutely 💯 percent, i just took a step back from socials to concentrate on changing job and refocus my priorities/time to the members I had.

FAT MAN CLUB monthly weigh ins are back next Tuesday!!!

With the dark nights coming in, it gives the guys a chance to get a quick weigh in. Then we go through some discussion points on health, fitness and diet. Finish off by going through the monthly fitness challenge. Where points are awarded to the guys who go out and get the job done.

It’s laid back, nothing too serous and a great chance to be around like minded men who are trying to introduce healthier habits, shift some weight and create a more positive mindset.

If anything, good to get out the house and get talking. Amazing what the power of conversation can do for you and the people around you.

Great to get out today with the lads, we got a beautiful day for it.

Always feels good to get out moving and talking in the fresh air. A lot of lads have made some serious progress since i started Fat Man Club. Some have run into some tough times and big hurdles to overcome.

But Together we all help and support each other to get there, no matter what goals or aspirations we have.

One of our members Andy C taking it to a whole new level. 🔥

He was “FMC elite” when he joined but he’s proving he’s worthy of that division!!

He’s been smashing his monthly challenges and applying a strong emphasis on time restricted eating.

Fasting isn’t a magic pill but it’s a handy tool to apply in certain situations. In Andy’s case where food quality was poor while he was working away offshore.

Not only is he pushing himself he is also motivating & encouraging other members to improve.

Top work and let’s hope he can continue doing what he’s doing.

Question is…..can he maintain while he’s home!! 😜

BBQ BEEF BRISKET
Time: 8 hours (low)
Portions: 5/6

Equipment
•slow cooker
•3 x small bowl

Notes
•if you want to miss out the maple syrup you could probably just get away with adding an extra tablespoon of sugar, iv put brown sugar but normal be alright 🤙

INGREDIENTS
•packet small wraps

Brisket
•red onion
•1kg brisket
•tsp mustard powder
•tsp cayenne pepper
•tsp smoked paprika
•tsp cinnamon
•tsp chipotle paste
•tablespoon red wine vinegar
•1 tablespoons brown sugar or white
•3 cloves garlic (diced)
•500ml passata
•3 bay leaves (optional)
•2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)

Pickled onion
•red onion
•tablespoon red wine vinegar

Condiments
•can sweetcorn
•packet tomatoes
•bbq sauce
•coriander (optional)
•avocado (optional )
•hot sauce (optional)
•sour cream ( optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

1- Look out all equipment and ingredients, put slow cooker on low

2- dice both onions, add one to slow cooker, add the other to a small bowl with a tablespoon of red wine vinegar

3- add brisket to the slow cooker along with all other ingredients for the brisket.

4- Mix through everything, put lid on and Cook for about 8 hours on low heat

5- Chop tomatoes and a handful coriander, add to small bowl

6- drain sweetcorn, add to small bowl and keep all condiments in fridge till beef ready

7- serve with small wraps, fridge or freeze any leftovers.

Weigh in tomorrow lads, same time same place. Gonna be explaining the new league structure. Currently have 14 members competing in 3 areas. We have a new member coming along for the first time so it would be good to get another lad to step up to the challenge and make it 8v8.

Thai beef meatballs

NOTE - buy more rice if serving 4 ppl, I froze 2 portions of the meatballs 🤟

INGREDIENTS ( 4 portions meatballs)

•tsp coconut oil
•700g ish beef meatballs
•4 spring onions
•2 red peppers
•Thumb piece ginger
•4 garlic cloves
•50g red Thai paste
•veg or chicken stock cube
•400g ish passata or chopped tomatoes
•1 x 400g can coconut milk
•1 tbsp low Salt soy sauce
•1 tbsp sugar
•2 x packets sticky rice (or any rice 🍚)
•half head broccoli

EQUIPMENT
- baking tray
- Parchment paper
- Big pan

1 - oven on, look out big pan and line tray for meatballs. Chop spring onions and red peppers (leave some spring onion for garnish)

2 - cook meatballs In oven. Melt coconut oil and Cook spring onions and peppers few mins, med heat

3 - dice ginger then

4 - dice garlic then add

5 - add Thai paste

6 - add stock cube

7 - add tomato passata

8 - add coconut milk, bring to boil then back to medium heat

9 - add 1 tbsp soy sauce

10 - add 1 tbsp sugar

11 - drain any fat off the meatballs then add to pan, simmer away for a few mins

12 - meanwhile cook broccoli in microwave just put into small bowl with a little water🥦

13 - then heat up rice, serve and top with spring onion

CHICKEN FRIED RICE
4-5 portions

● 3 chicken breasts ( 650g )
● tsp coconut oil
● 3 tbsp Soy sauce
● 4 spring onions
● Ginger ( about inch )
● 3 garlic cloves
● 2 carrot
● 1 chilli
● 1 can Sweet Corn
● 1 cup frozen peas
● 2 packet pre cooked rice
● 2 tbsp sesame oil
● 4 eggs
● sweet chilli sauce (load it)

1- marinate chicken in soy sauce

2 - big pan, med/high heat, melt coconut oil

3 - cook chicken breasts about 6 mins each side ( only move once) meanwhile dice 3 spring onions, garlic and ginger

4 - remove chicken, cover in foil, heat down to medium, deglaze pan with some water

5 -add spring onions, ginger then garlic

6 - peel carrot strips in then cook for few mins

7 - Meanwhile, dice up the chilli and leftover spring onion, set aside. Crack eggs in bowl, whisk. Micro rice for a few mins.

8 - Chop up chicken add to pan along with sweetcorn, peas and rice

9 - add 2 tbsp sesame oil, move everything to one side so eggs can cook
(Make sure biggest bit of chicken no pink bits)

10 - mix everything together then serve with sweet chilli sauce, spring onion and chilli

Just one last thank you to everyone that has donated money towards

We have now raised a total of £650 which is absolutely amazing and so much more than I anticipated. The grand total from all participants is about £350,000!!!!!

I Want to also thank and for doing it with me. They’ve put in an absolute shift getting all 3000 done.🫡

There was a group chat set up for everyone taking part and it was a massive inspiration and a constant reminder why it was so important to complete this challenge. So many people are affected by cancer. There were heartbreaking stories to read and an example of how fortunate some of us are. Really hit home and kept me going every single day.

We will get a bigger squad in next year and raise the roof for this great charity. ❤️

Exercise has seen me through some tough times in the past 100 days. On the days I felt low, I came out with a stronger mind, on the days I couldn’t be bothered I just did something small to keep momentum. It wasn’t about becoming fitter or hitting records. it was about overcoming resistance and making exercise a bigger part of my life and identity.

Of course there are tremendous physical benefits to gain but exercise drives you to healthier eating choices, builds confidence and helps create a more positive mindset.

My mindset slowly improved day by day, week by week. And while I haven’t made massive improvements in appearance, strength or running times. I did gain the confidence to enter my first charity challenge and so far we have raised £290!!! Which is awesome, so thank you guys ❤️


Also good meet tonight, 2 new members signed up raring to go. Next one Tuesday 6th November 🤙
