🌟 Bonding! 🌟

We now offer a bonding service for our adopters.

Our bonding service is bunny led and follows the 24/7 method (tailored to the individual bunnies' needs), we will not use any stress techniques. Only one bond will be undertaken at a time, and no other rabbits are housed anywhere near the bonding pen.

A solid bond takes time to develop and adopters will still require to work on the bond when the bunnies return home (neutralising the living space and building up the space and enrichment). But we will be doing the groundwork for you.

Because it is very time intensive and involves a fair bit of costs (insurance premiums, cleaning materials, hay and copious amounts of forage to keep buns happy) we will be asking for an additional donation on top of the adoption fee. But we will keep this as low as possible 🙂.

There will still be the option for adopters to self bond, with our guidance and support.

We hope offering this service will help more people adopt from us 🐰❤️🐰.

We need to raise our standards and do better for our animal companions 🫶💜✨

📢 We will not rehome rabbits to outdoor homes that use any type of rabbit hutch as the rabbits' internal "living quarters". 📢

Reasons for this are:
❎️ Poor quality
❎️ Not predator proof
❎️ Easily toppled over in high winds
❎️ Don't provide enough warmth in winter
❎️ Not spacious enough . (On a poor weather day rabbits need plenty indoor space to express natural behaviour).
❎️False economy, they may be cheaper to buy, but they don't last.
❎️ Risk of the rabbits being shut into this small space.
❎️ Hutches are sold by unethical companies like P@H who we do not support.

What are some alternatives??

✅️ Garden sheds
✅️ Joiner made cabins (we can supply recommendations)
✅️ Wooden playhouses
✅️ Wooden dog kennels
✅️ Garage space (must have natural light)

*Marketplace is a good place to look for second-hand housing

Hutches can still be used inside a shed as a cosy sleeping area, with free access to come and go.

🌳 🛑 This nest of goldfinches would like to remind you that now is not the time to cut trees or hedges….

Many birds are STILL busy rearing their young, and their nests are easy to miss. Sadly, these healthy chicks had no chance of making it after their nest was left exposed to the elements, as well as predators.

As a wildlife organization, we would recommend delaying garden work until early autumn, and to always check for wildlife (this also includes rodents, amphibians, hedgehogs…) beforehand to prevent the risk of nest destruction as well as injuries caused by tools. Sadly we receive lots of animals unnecessarily at this time of year due to careless gardening and tree work.

Well I may be 62 but I feel 20 years younger now after going from 236 to 141 all after finding this little-known “Exotic Rice Method” …

I was having dinner with my friend Jen when she told me about a video she came across while scrolling.

That’s how she found out about this “rice method” that only takes 10 seconds in her morning routine.

I didn’t really believe her at first. But she was gushing about it and I couldn’t argue with her transformation.

She looked amazing by the way. I mean, Jen definitely didn’t look like this before…

So I figured ok I might as well try it.

I mean, I tried so many different things over the years. At least this “rice method” was very simple and easy to fit in to my routine.

Well let me tell you, just this morning I was trying on a swimsuit that I haven’t even dared to LOOK at in years…

I feel like I did in my 30s. That kind of playful, happy me, without a care in the world.

I thought that old me was gone forever…

If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean. This “rice method" isn’t about exercising or watching everything I eat.

It’s much simpler than that. And it works for me, that’s the main thing!~

I’m just hoping Jen will see this when she’s scrolling, because I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to her for sharing it with me.

🛑 A Hutch is Not Enough 🛑

Rabbits need more than a small hutch to thrive🐇 Confining them to tight spaces is cruel and harmful. Here’s why:

🐰 Solitary Confinement: Rabbits need space to run, jump, stretch, dig, and forage, as well as a bonded mate for companionship.

🐰 Weather Exposure: Small hutches offer little protection from the elements, leaving rabbits vulnerable.

🐰 Room to Rear Up: Rabbits must be able to stand on their hind legs without touching the roof to avoid spinal issues.

Minimum Enclosure Size: At least 3m x 2m x 1m high—bigger is always better!

*Update* The driver of the vehicle which hit the deer has been in touch with us privately. They genuinely believed the deer had died and were horrified to hear it had remained alive post the incident. They have saved our number for future use.

A disappointing end to one of the busiest days of the year so far. Just 5 minutes down the road from our wildlife rescue centre a deer was struck and left badly injured in the carriageway. Thankfully a kind, and responsible member of the public came upon the scene moments later, pulled over and put her hazard lights on prior to calling us for assistance. When we arrived at the scene the deer had dragged herself into the vegetation at the side of the road but was sadly beyond saving. We despatched the deer to end her suffering and removed some of the debris left in the road by the driver who had hit the deer.
We have seen a promising increase in calls from drivers who have hit deer, but still the vast majority go unreported except by witnesses or those who come across the deer later on. This causes a lot of unnecessary suffering.

If you hit a deer (and remember this can happen to any of us at any time):

-Pull over when it is safe to do so and put your hazard lights on
-Make a note of your exact location, ideally using the what 3 words app
-call your nearest wildlife rescue centre or the police on 101
