Courthouse - Barnsley New
The Official NEW page For The Courthouse Pub in Barnsley (South Yorkshire) 😜
WE HAVE A NEW WINNER!
Gareth Hall finally has his streak snapped as Rab McKenzie takes home the winner's prize in today's Court House darts knockout, defeating John Bowler by four legs to two in the final.
Rab managed to comfortably get past an out of sorts Gaz by three straight legs, whilst John managed to overcome Daryl Sykes in a close-cut affair with a final leg victory.
The next KO to take place at the CH will happen on the 21st of July, and we're already accepting entries for the next competition... so if you're interested, come and have a word with one of our staff. It'll be £5 to enter for up to 32 people.
We'll be seeing England for the first time at EURO 2024 this weekend, as they'll be taking on Serbia from 8pm!
Here's your times for today's matches:
🇵🇱 vs 🇳🇱 2pm
🇸🇮 vs 🇩🇰 5pm
🇷🇸 vs 🏴 8pm
That's not all that'll be happening on the day, as the Court House will be having its monthly darts knockout on the go from 3pm. We'll soon find out if Gareth Hall can pocket another £200 by taking the winners prize... or will we have a new winner? Only time will tell on the day.
NB: Anyone participating in the Darts knockout needs to be at the venue for 2:30pm for a roll call, with the draw happening at 2:45pm and toe-to-oche at 3pm.
Come and make a day of it with us at the Court House... and let's cheer on those three lions!
🏴 🏴 🏴 COME ON ENGLAND! 🏴🏴🏴

EURO 2024 is now in full swing - and today, we're going to be showing ALL games on our multiple screens at the Court House!
🇭🇺 v 🇨🇭 2pm
🇪🇸 v 🇭🇷 5pm
🇮🇹 v 🇦🇱 8pm
But also remember that we'll have our current offer on with Cruzcampo, Carling Black Fruits and Cold River Cider all on at £2.65 a pint until our stocks are exhausted. What better way to enjoy the footy than to have a cracking pint?
Plus, we'll have the effervescent Lady PHOENIX in the house with karaoke from 6pm this evening!
Don't forget too, that we've still got our wine, shots, Becks and hand pulled ale offers on as well... so why not come and make a day of it?
~ G
The weekend is almost upon us, folks... can you feel it in the air?
The Court House is once again getting ready for karaoke days from Thursday to Saturday - and we can tell you who'll be whipping up the crowd to delirium!
It'll be our very own Lady PHOENIX in Charlane this afternoon and Saturday night, whilst we'll have Lady Dee Danielle gettin' fierce for us on Friday evening.
Remember as well that we'll hope to have the opening matches of EURO 2024, with England's first game of the tournament against Serbia on Sunday June 16th.
Additionally, we're having an "end-of-line" offer on currently where Cruzcampo, Carling Black Fruits and Cold River Cider are on at £2.65 a pint - but once these are gone, they're GONE! Catch them while you can whilst you belt out a tune or two with our fantastic karaoke hosts.
Come and make a day of it, why don't you...?
~ G
In order to make way for new products on the draught lines at the Court House, we're going to have a bit of a sale on three particular products - and they'll all be on the bar for £2.65 a pint, all day and every day, for a limited time!
They are:
- Cruzcampo lager
- Cold River cider
- Carling Black Fruits cider
Remember... once they're gone - they're GONE FOR GOOD - so get them in whilst they're still on the bar!
Details of new products coming on to the bar will follow on at a later date. But, for now - come and make a day of it, and enjoy the prices of our remaining stocks of these three particular lines!
~ G
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING COURT HOUSE FOLKS!
How are we doing this Monday morning? I know that most of us aren't a fan of Mondays, as the Boomtown Rats have chirped about in days gone past, but here we are with a brand new week!
We're going to have our Open Mic night this evening, which will be starting from 8pm, hosted by Emma and Tony - but, that's not all, as we're going to have our Monday Madness in full swing, too!
Carling, Cold River and John Smith's are all on the bar at £2.65 a pint today, coupled alongside our ADED offers on Becks, wines and selected shots - these are alongside our hand pulled ales of Sharp's ATLANTIC PALE and Marston's PEDIGREE, which are also on at £2.65 a pint as well!
So... why don't you come and make a day of it with us at the Court House?
~ G
ONE WEEK LEFT!
The Court House darts knockout is almost upon us once again, with its next episode about to get underway on the 16th of June.
Just as a reminder to those who have registered - but not yet paid for their entry: you have up to the close of doors on the 14th to secure your spot. The roll call on the day will be at 2:30pm, and the draw itself will take place at 2:45pm on the day.
Good luck to all who enter!
~G
The Court House Darts Knockout is about to come over the horizon once again, and brings a new competition for you all to enter!
The knockout itself is limited to 32 players, and it'll just be a fiver for you to enter. The Court House will also match entry fees, meaning that there'll be a £300 prize pool to aim for - every player participating will get a pint once they've finished their games and we'll also feed you as well.
Can anyone stop Gareth Hall from going five in a row? Or will he end up making another mint by hitting the bullseye once again? Only time will tell...
NOTE: Entry fees *must* be in by the close of doors on the 14th of June. The draw itself will take place on the day at 2:45pm, with a view to starting the first games at 3pm. Please also note that this knockout is open to local players, and we do not allow county, super league or "professional" players in the WDF or PDC codes.
Best of luck to one and all!

Just sharing this anonymous tidbit that was left with us for Barnsley Live - not only did it make us chuckle at the business side of the bar, but it was very kindly appreciated after a hectic, yet wonderful day for us all.
Whoever is responsible for giving us a smile with this note - thank you so much!
~ G
With thanks to one of our volunteers, Leander - we managed to get FOUR videos of some of our acts at Barnsley Live.
Enjoy a few snippets of Beyst_Official, Dislocator, The Abandoned and Camisado UK in action!
~ G
As the sun settled on Barnsley Live yesterday, I thought I'd put this post up as a show of appreciation.
In respect of all our acts that performed within the walls of the Court House - Barnhouse, Rock Pits, Beyst_Official, Dislocator, The Abandoned, Black Toad and Camisado UK - as well as the tireless work that the BL stage managers and crew did in their own right - we couldn't have been privileged enough to have you with us for what turned out to be a fantastic day.
To all our quality bar staff on site, led by Duane, who tirelessly managed to keep our customers and revered visitors on site fed and watered - as well as our own volunteers on the day - you've all been amazing with what you did.
Finally, a HUGE thank you to the fans and supporters - our customers on the day - who came to enjoy one hell of a day overall. Without you all being around, Barnsley Live wouldn't be anything. We hope that in the future we can definitely do all of this again as it was a blast.
As we rest a few aching limbs in a bath with a few handfuls of Epsom salts, we hope to see you again soon for shenanigans a plenty!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!
~ G
TODAY'S THE DAY!
It'll be time to rock out with our seven-piece line-up once 1pm kicks in at the Court House for Barnsley Live. We'll have our doors open from 10am this morning, with all our respective offers on for Becks, wine, hand pulled cask ales and selected shots... but just a couple of pointers to mention, if you mind us:
- Although we're open from 10am, make sure you get your spot before it gets overly busy. We're expected to have a very hectic day, so try to make it easy for yourself where possible.
- Kids will be more than welcome on the day, however there will be a limit on due to licensing and chain regulations. Stay safe where you can.
- We're hoping to have a blast on the day with all bands - be respectful of them and make sure you get those 🤘 high in support for all our performing acts!
- Our outside bar and BBQ will be operating a CASH ONLY payment scheme. Please remember that we won't be able to accept cards on the outside areas (the front garden).
Other than these, we welcome one and all to the Court House, where we're hoping to have one hell of a day... so why don't you come and make a day of it too?
~ G

We’re still on the lookout for players to come and join the team for next year. It’s a men’s adults team.
We’ll be in the Barnsley Sunday League starting in the bottom division.
Training currently on Sunday mornings. If you’re interested then please drop the page a message.
We couldn't say anything better on top of what Barnsley Live have said about our late, great Vikki.
She always had time for everyone - whether here within our walls, or up at t'Bear - and she'll be forever missed.
As BL have said, even though Vikki was a 90s gal at heart, we're hoping her spirit will be rockin' with us at this year's event.
From all of us at the Court House, may her spirit be with us all forever more.
~ G
You may have noticed if you have bought this years programme that a few venues' stages have been dedicated to some very important people to us who are no longer with us. We were limited with space for print, so we'd like to take a moment here to say more. This year's The Courthouse stage is dedicated to Vikki Kilner ❤️
Vikki worked at the Courthouse with her husband Wayne for many years, before eventually going back to become manager, and more recently managing the White Bear.
Vikki was a “proper 90s girl” when it came to music, and was a big supporter of Barnsley Live in the years she was involved.
She loved spending time with her family and their two dogs who were always by her side.
In July last year Vikki was diagnosed with Cancer, and tragically lost her battle with it on the 24th November. This year’s Barnsley LIVE stage is therefore dedicated not only to Vikki, but to her family and friends and everyone who supported her during her short battle, including MacMillan Nursing and the staff at Weston Park Hospital.

The next couple of days are going to be absolute crackers here at the Court House!
Tonight, we have the one and only Charlane in the house, bringing her Irish charm along, with her karaoke setup for some fun and shenanigans along the way.
Then, tomorrow, it's going to be filled with rock from 1pm as the prestigious Barnsley Live will be upon us! Seven of the county's finest acts will be at the Court House for you all to enjoy - just make sure that you get a spot nice and early, though, as we're anticipating to be busy throughout the day.
Come and make TWO days of it if you can...
~ G
Our Courthouse FC lads will have their first six pre-season fixtures, kicking off on the 14th of July.
Why don't you give them a follow and find out how their pre-season training is going along while you're here?
~G
Ahead of potentially our first training session next weekend, we’d like to confirm our pre-season fixtures as we prepare for the upcoming season.
All of the games grounds are to be confirmed closer to the time, which we’ll share.
We look forward to facing these sides.
The Court House continues its final day of previews for Barnsley Live - and we bring you our final three acts that'll be playing at our venue!
Offering us more bo****ks than an Aberdeen Angus field, The Abandoned are a p***y quintet that will look to smash more than an eardrum or two with their brand of original and hard-hitting punk rock.
They'll Ask for Angela while they go East of Dachau, whilst acting like a Bad Samaritan as they deliver their thunderous vibes via your aural passageways.
The Abandoned paid our sister venue, the White Bear, a visit - and tore it up like a "Bad Samaritan" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Brq0aJr8j34
South Yorkshire-based Black Toad is a sextet of artists that bring us a rock and blues vibe to Barnsley Live. You'd be expecting tight, sultry arrangements of classic tracks within their set of musich, containing blues standards, classic rock and some iconic Americana along the way.
Their influences range from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Warren Zevon, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt and many, many more. They've become one of South Yorkshire's best attractions out there, and aren't to be missed.
Enjoy their CAMRA 2016 festival highlights by checking this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OjL9xmPTIQ
Hailing from Sheffield, Camisado UK will make sure they kick all doors in with their p***y blues attitude, and have their own brand of brashness to put on display. They'll get you to talk to us with their material, and will give you enough crawl space to see everything in black and white. Hopefully, camisado! won't leave you staring at the sun, or feeling incommunicado when they take you to strange places!
They played with all our friends at the White Bear, and left their love bite on our patrons, with "All Doors Kicked In" - take a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHG4z_H9EVc

The Court House is opening up a Euro 2024 blind sweepstake to all our patrons, and entries will be accepted from 6pm tomorrow evening.
How's it going to work, you ask? Well, let us tell you more...
There's going to be 24 envelopes with all the participating teams sealed inside them - and you'd pay a fiver to take one of them at random. You'll write your name on the seal of the envelope to make sure that's all yours.
When the final comes around on the 14th of July, all envelopes will be opened up, and the prize structure is as follows for our winners:
Winning team of EURO 2024 - £70
Runners-up of EURO 2024 - £40
Two semi-finalists of EURO 2024 - £5
Total prize pot per sweepstake - £120.
Depending on the interest we receive, we may operate extra sweepstake pots.
So why not come and have a go?
~ G
Continuing our preview of the Barnsley Live performers, we go head first into our next couple of acts that will be gracing the Court House walls with their revered presence.
Barnhouse brings their style of rock to the table, with a couple of decades of stage excellence under their belts, ranging through the spectrum with covers from Green Day, Queen, the Cranberries and many more along the way. They're well known around the local circuits and are held in great regard. We're looking forward to having them here to open the bill at 1pm!
You can see when Barnhouse paid our sister pub, the White Bear, a visit here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1649256512151771
Rock Pits come to us with their own way of making things live and loud. They'll be bringing their own take on big hits from the Stereophonics, AC/DC, more Queen tracks, and much more to boot. Let them into your aural passageways as they follow Barnhouse from 2pm!
See the Rock Pits go rollin' on a river in this Facebook clip here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=938340064256773

As Barnsley Live rocks in this Saturday, we're going to feature our acts a little bit more via our platform.
Dislocator are one of Barnsley's most well known thrash metal bands, with almost 20 years of headbanging material in their bank. They're angry. They're loud. And, They're damned right noisy, too, waiting to pummel your eardrums with their thunderous tones and pulverising, primal rhythms, their brand of thrash will have your head falling off with the highest kind of reverence.
Check out their lyrical video for the tectonic "DYING LIGHT" here: https://youtu.be/va7j0vMfrJQ?si=dnPoxgnzuGGtnhde
Emerging from Barnsley's industrial heart, Beyst_Official is another hard-smacking wrecking ball that pulls in the proper raw grit of their home roots. They'll smash and grab at every opportunity with their quintet of relentless perfectionists, whom have looked to craft effervescent - yet, chaotic - orchestrations over the course of almost two decades.
Take a gander at their live set at the White Bear from November last year, and the epic "SKIN WALKER" here: https://youtu.be/2yfa_tF2Jxs?si=ucm_todx70ywbzVe
