This winter, the Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley has been transported back to long, long ago for the new Houseplant Takeover – Plants Before Time exhibition, on from 3 February to 10 March 2024. Step inside to discover fascinating plants such as ferns and cycads, alongside fossils, footprints and more!

I revisited RHS Garden Wisley this week to see how the Orchid house has developed since the summer.
The plants are looking beautiful and nature has adapted brilliantly to our man-made rock structures.
The orchids are accepting the replica cork epiphyte tree and growing well.
You can't rush nature .....or the road works on the A3!!!

The beautiful new Orchid House in the Glasshouse is now open. It’s an inviting space providing the opportunity to get a close-up view of these diverse and mysterious plants.

The new Orchid House in the Glasshouse opens today!

For the first time, our vast collection of more than 3,000 orchids will have their time to shine with hundreds now on display. The display will change throughout the seasons to showcase the different orchids in their prime.

The naturalistic setting gives a flavour of how plants would grow in the wild. Orchids can live on the ground, on trees or on rocks so be sure to look all around.

The Glasshouse is open from 10am – 3:45pm daily, last entry at 3:30pm.
