Dare I say it BUT I can't believe we are 9 and a bit WEEKS away from the festive season!!
Before you know it, it will be upon us!

Iโve had a few enquiries following my post last week about my Wednesday evening classes 6-7pm & whether I was planning to run any morning classes.
Iโm conscious there are many of you out there who may be retired, may not work mornings or may be a busy Mum & who are struggling to find a friendly all ladies fitness group to come along to on a morning.

After a lovely relaxing time with hubby , some sun, lovely food & drinks itโs back to managed portions for me!
๐๐ปAs I normally do I tried to capture a few of my meals so as I can share with you (not literally) before I gobbled them up! ๐
โ๏ธBut also to demonstrate you CAN still eat healthy whilst being away from home..
All of which are delicious & nutritious with a bit of indulgence too!
โค๏ธHere are just a few of my favourites I enjoyed
and all of which can easily be created at home!
In no particular order.
โถ๏ธ Omelettes with mushrooms, ham, peppers. Spinach, herbs & salad.
โถ๏ธ A small side of chia pudding
โถ๏ธ Grilled chicken, hummus (too much!) some Turkish dips such as ezme, yoghurt based ones
โถ๏ธ Salmon a few times - black rice with one meal
โถ๏ธ Greek yogurt, peanut butter, chia, fruit
โถ๏ธ French toast omg! This was delicious! Think it was brioche with fruit, peanut butter & yoghurt
โถ๏ธ Grouper with salad
โถ๏ธ Prawns
โถ๏ธ Actually only had one pud, fruit as the main one
Lots of healthy MAIN dishes BUT what do you notice?
โผ๏ธYes!! My portion sizes went out the window in some cases!
Where were my hands ๐๐ผ when I needed them?! (See previous posts on portion sizes )
It happens to us all!
๐ณ And of course a cocktail or 2 - Prosecco & nibbles!

๐ And heading now into a busy social period as we head towards Christmas!

Where has this year gone?
Iโm sure itโs like that for many of you too!

Iโm not going to lie but I feel a bit apprehensive sharing these pictures of me.
I have rarely shared pictures of me like this to anyone, let alone social media as itโs personal to me.
So, for me itโs a bit of risk, but I hope you will understand why Iโve done this.
And Itโs not to get feedback or comments I promise.
๐๐ปI made a commitment to you on a previous post, that Iโd share with you, how Iโve got on.
I guess I felt a bit accountable to all of you and Iโm a woman of my word!
โ๏ธBefore I start, the other thing to remember is, that we are all different, shapes, sizes, physique, morphologies & heights.
My off track will be different to yours.
We all have very different goals.
๐ฅ
My goal is not necessarily going to be the same as yours or as the next person.
And the same applies to you.
So, here I am on the left towards the end of July & on the right 10 weeks later.
And have still had socials during this period.
๐The main things for me were:
โถ๏ธ I wasnโt feeling great about myself & being perimenopausal only added to how I felt about me.
โถ๏ธI was beginning to think that Iโd never shift the extra pounds gained & thought it must be down to perimenopause & my age.
โถ๏ธ I was still training consistently but not progressing or seeing any physical changes.
โถ๏ธI wanted & needed to be pushed & challenged.
โโif youโve always done what youโve always done, youโll always get what youโve always gotโ
So, ๐๐๐๐๐๐ was ๐๐๐๐๐๐!
Something had to changeโฆ

As a nutrition & fitness coach, Iโm not ashamed to say that Iโve been working with a fitness coach too.
โญ๏ธTheyโre an expert in what they do and Iโm an expert in what I do.
โ
I want to learn & to be the best I can be so learning & self development is key for me.
โ
Iโve massively progressed my training and am so much stronger.
โ
Iโve made a few changes to my diet to allow me to fuel myself correctly & train hard!
โ
Iโve worked flipping hard - itโs made me realise how much I can push myself instead of just going through the motions.
โ
This has pushed me outside of my comfort zone, itโs also challenged some of my beliefs & values.
I donโt always agree but challenge is a good thing.
โ
If you really want something you can make it happen.
โ๏ธEven though I help so many ladies on a daily basis who feel like I did, it doesnโt mean Iโm immune from all of this stuff.

This is another common phrase I hear from my ladies before they start working with me.
So what causes bloating?
๐That swelling or feeling of fullness in the tummy is a common thing & not just us ladies who experience this.
I donโt know about you but it can make me feel a bit down.
So, whatโs going on in that tummy then?
๐จ Well, itโs usually a result of gas in the intestines which can be caused by many things connected to the diet including overeating.& eating too fast, alcohol, constipation or possibly an intolerance to lactose.
It could also be hormone related or worse case scenario it could be more serious but, there would be more likely to be additional symptoms so always get yourself checked out if you are or if youโre unsure & worried.
Whilst a bit of bloating is normal & happens to us all:
๐๐ผ The great thing is, that for the vast majority of us it is down to diet & thatโs exactly where I can help & where I do help all the ladies I work with if they are experiencing this & where it is down to their diet.

Firstly, my apologies, my Mum always told me it's rude to point!
Honestly, I'm not being rude, the reason I'm asking you in this way is because that's what a lot of my ladies tell me that they are - โpeople pleasers.โ
And that's often why they find it challenging to put themselves first.
๐คท But why do so many of us do this? It could be...
1๏ธโฃ We don't like letting people down
2๏ธโฃ We don't like to offend people
3๏ธโฃ It could stem from our childhood, parents & grandparents so, we've learnt it
4๏ธโฃ People expect us to behave a certain way because we've always been like that
5๏ธโฃWe feel guilty or bad if we don't....
6๏ธโฃOr it could be something else?
7๏ธโฃ Are you using it as an excuse?
Whatever it is, you could be allowing it stop you from achieving whatever your goal maybe or simply doing something for yourself/putting yourself first.
๐If any of this applies, one of the things I will do is to coach & help you to find a way of managing those occasions/situations.
As these are often the ones that my clients find the most challenging & more often than not, food will be involved.
๐ So, Is it time to start putting yourself first,?

After 8 weeks of working with me this lady has lost almost 11 pounds & 23cm which is amazing ๐คฉ
Whilst it took this lady a few weeks to consistently make the changes thatโs all ok ๐.sheโs got it now.
The key ๐is learning & being able to implement things at your pace.
But heck! Iโm super proud of her xx
So, when she came to me her biggest challenges were:

2๏ธโฃ Overeating

This lady now has the toolโs & knowledge to allow her to keep working towards her goal & is keen to start her fitness again.

Itโs almost 6 weeks ago now, I gave myself a right old talking to!
The reason Iโm telling you this is, because most of us do go through this, ME included.
โ
Itโs how we deal with it rather than just burying our heads in the sand & ignoring whatโs really going on.
โถ๏ธ So, I wasnโt feeling great about myself.
โถ๏ธ My diet, whilst still healthy in the main, needed reigning in. Particularly on the weekends.
โถ๏ธ More around portions Iโd say rather than lots of unhealthier bits.
โถ๏ธ My training days remained consistent but I just felt like I wasnโt progressing, I was going more โthrough the motions just to get it done.โ
โSo, ๐๐๐๐๐๐ was ๐๐๐๐๐๐!
Iโll share more with you in a few weeks time, but basically:

5 years ago, that Iโd be standing here now, hanging out washing with my name all over it!
At the time I was approaching the end of a 32 year career in banking, and had no idea what I was going to do next.
๐ณIโm not going to lie it was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but I always knew, as a firm believer, that one door closes & another opens and that things happen for a reason.
๐During those 32 years, I was fortunate to have some first class training, met some amazing people; colleagues & customers some of which have become firm friends today.
๐I have got lots to be grateful for.
Without this, I wouldnโt be where I am today.

Since setting up my business almost 4 years ago, I've been very fortunate to help & support all of which have been truly inspirational ladies (and a few guys) who I feel very privileged to have helped & worked with.
