Not every piece of wood is ideal for bending. Knots and steep grain runoff cause issues, all you can do is clamp the affected area then glue when dry. Four of the six legs for the two loop tables required major fixes.

Cutting hand sanded fingers into a table top is harder than I remembered.

Key hammer nearly finished and a large oak lampshade mid glue up. If you like to see these they will both be for sale at the Craft Festival in Cheltenham Town Hall 8-10th March (next weekend).

Last push to finish some more stock for Cheltenham craft fair next weekend. Three ebony vases and carving the handle for a key stand.

Still getting ready for the 8th March. One armchair table completed and a split table leg done, waiting for an oak top and base.

A simple valentines gift for my fantastic wife. Just cut a heart out of ash, slice one edge and peal down, then drill and insert a test tube vase.

It’s going to be a slow glue up for the plant stands with only three suitable clamps. 😱

Making small stands for dog bowl or plants are made easy with a domino. Who needs to spend hours cutting mortise and tenons when they aren’t seen.

Not long to go until I show these steam bent items at the Cheltenham craft festival - 8th-10th March.

Just knocked up a little oak side table to home our phone, iPad and watch charger.

Todays finished wooden thing is a small oak side table with looped ask legs.

Another cutting board completed. I must admit I enjoy bending the handle far more than all the cutting glueing, more cutting then more gluing, oh and not forgetting all the sanding to flatten and remove any imperfections. I can now appreciate why end grain cutting boards cost so much.

Oiling a cutting board makes all the difference, happy days. And bending a second handle for the next board.

Today has been quite a quiet day just finishing a breadboard. Looking forward to putting the finishing oil on tomorrow.

Can you ever have enough clamp?

Two more hammers bent and ready to convert to watch stands. You always get some form of failure when bending wood, just fill and embrace and don’t worry.

The larger loop table stance works well, unfortunately due to the blotchiness of the leg I think I will need to replace them.
