The Caipirinha is pretty much considered to be Brazil's national drink, as is its main ingredient: Cachaca!!
To make one of these bad boys all you need is Cachaca, sugar and lime.. That's it!
All you've gotta do is muddle some lime wedges and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a glass.
Fill the glass with ice, add 50ml of your favourite Cachaca (we recommend this delicious bottle from ) and give it a good stir.
Garnish with a lime wheel and you're good to go!

๐ทENGLISH WINE WEEK๐ท
We've been a bit quiet on this one, but as English wine week is about to come to a close, we thought we'd showcase some delicious wines from a fantastic English winery.
are one of England's oldest (and most beautiful) wineries, located in rural Sussex.
They've been making delicious liquid for the past five decades, and they've been producing award winning still and sparkling wines ever since.
We've got a small selection of their wines in the shop:
Their Lynchgate Bacchus - fresh and zesty, with delicate notes of elderflower and citrus. Long, drawn out finish with lingering flavours of white flowers, apple, gooseberry and lime.
Their Pinot Noir - incredibly well balanced and vibrant, with soft tannins. Ripe strawberries, plums and red cherry on the palate. Leather and earthy notes compliment toasted almonds, black cherry and dark fruits on the finish.
Their Pinot Gris - super smooth, medium bodied white, plenty of fresh pear along with citrus and honeysuckle. Fresh, lively finish with some grassy notes.
All exceptional wines and perfect examples of what England is capable of when it comes to winemaking ๐ท๐๐ป๐ฅ
๐ทFATHERS DAY PART 3๐ท
We've covered whisky, we've covered armagnac, now it's time to cover maybe the best gift of all; mixed cases.
We've included a picture of a rather classy box of wine that we've put together for a customer, to be picked up in time for fathers day.
Pop into the shop or give us a call on 01225 335663 and we can put together a case of any and all bottles that take your fancy.
Mixed cases of wine will also be eligible for a discount!
Get your dad something that makes him as happy as Olly clearly is when holding this box of wine!
๐ฅFATHER'S DAY PART 2๐ฅ
Continuing the theme of father's day presents, today's suggestion is a lovely bottle of vintage Armagnac.
Chรขteau de Laubade produce some absolutely stunning Armagnacs; the fact that they're one of the top producers of Armagnac in the Bas Armagnac region is something we've mentioned many times before, and with vintages dating back to 1860, any and all Armagnac needs can and will be met ๐๐ป๐ฅ
๐ฅFATHER'S DAY๐ฅ
With Father's day just round the corner, and with whisky being the definitive father's day present, why not treat the dad's in your life to a delicious, 18 year old highland single malt.
Loch Lomond, sited at the North end of the Loch Lomond in Tarbet, have a pretty extensive history; with their distillery dating back as early as 1814.
This delicious and beautifully balanced single malt spends 18 years in American oak casks before being bottled at 46%.
A very complex and fruit forward whisky, with aromas of to***co, oak and honey's cereal.
Rich and nutty palate, lots of blackcurrant jam and and slight whiff of peat smoke that continues into the finish.
Excellent whisky and a perfect present for dad this father's day ๐๐ป๐ฅ

๐พ๐ฅSOCIALISING CELEBRATION๐ฅ๐พ
We can now officially socialise indoors again!
If, like us, you seriously missed being able to sit indoors for a meal, or visit friends and family in their homes, you'll understandably be feeling the urge to celebrate this week!
And what better way to celebrate than with some seriously classy bottles of wine and champagne?!
This week we'll be highlighting a few bottles that we think will be perfect companions to bring along to those oh so precious get togethers that we all missed so much.
As a first post, we're definitely starting with a bit of class!
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2005.
This stunning prestige cuvee Blanc de Blancs (literally meaning 'white from white') is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, sourced only from the best vines in the prestigious Cote des Blancs region, and is only produced when the harvest is of exceptional quality and worthy of a vintage year.
Winemaking involves strictly using first press juice and ageing 5% for four months in new oak barrels, a third of which are topped up every year to increase the quality and complexity of the final blend.
The wine is then aged for a minimum of eight years before being released.
A very fresh champagne, combined with some slightly toasty notes.
Lots of citrus and toast on the nose and an expressive, complex palate full of big bold fruit and a rich, creamy texture.
Long and rich finish with some slightly sweet liquorice notes.
Happy drinking everyone - celebrate in style! ๐๐พ๐ฅ
๐ฅ Calling any and all rum lovers! ๐ฅ
Hampden Estate Overproof Rum (60%).
If you've not heard of before; firstly where have you been, and secondly you're seriously missing out.
Working predominantly as a distillery in Trelawny, Jamaica for many years; it was quite some time before Hampden Estate decided to produce bottles of rum under their own name.
This is one of two bottles produced by Hampden that we stock in store, and a definite favourite among staff and customers.
Hampden is produced with unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century.
The result is an extremely distinct distillate, with an incredible aromatic profile. Naturally aged for 7 years in the hot Jamaican climate, which equates to (around about) 25 years' worth of ageing in Europe.
This Overproof is bottled at a whopping 60% ABV, yet it remains incredibly delicate and well balanced.
Expect lots of tropical fruit; banana, pineapple and mango, with a delicate sweetness and a lovely bit of heat and spice from the high ABV.
A truly unique and exceptional liquid that any and all rum drinkers definitely need to add to their list. ๐๐ป๐ช๐ป๐ฅ
๐ฅ World Whisky Day 2021 ๐ฅ
As today is a day for everyone in the world to share their mutual love for whisky, we thought we'd share a little bit about one of our favourite distilleries here in Bath; The Glendronach Distillery, nestled in the Valley of Forgue in the East Highland hills.
One of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, have been making their signature sherry rich single malts for nearly 200 years.
You don't need to look much further than Glendronach if you're looking for high quality Highland single malts; they're now a front running contender for one the highest quality producers of whisky in Scotland.
Aged in first fill Olorosso and Pedro Ximinez sherry casks, their whiskies pack a big fruity punch, with sweet spice and chocolate, and some drying, more nutty notes lingering on the sweet, sherry rich finish.
Happy World Whisky Day everyone!! ๐ฅ
PS, we love your opinions, but we may have to agree to disagree on some of them! ๐
๐ช๐ธ Sherry fans, assemble! ๐ช๐ธ
Can't make your mind up between dry and sweet styles of sherry? Why not split the difference with this absolutely stunning 30-year aged Oloroso (with a smidge of PX thrown in), an absolute flavour explosion of dried cherries, salted caramel, burnt sugar and and prunes. Best served lightly chilled, the perfect accompaniment to those al fresco cheeseboards! ๐ง
๐ท New wine alert! ๐ท
Boekenhoutskloof base themselves in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley and while the name of their winery might be quite intimidating to try and pronounce, the wines themselves are incredibly approachable and, of course, incredibly delicious.
We're both thrilled and excited to be stocking a range of their wines in the shop.
We had the pleasure this morning of trying three of the wines from their '7 Chairs' range:
2018 Semillon - matured for 17 months in 70% new French Oak barriques and 30% in concrete eggs, this stunning white shows aromas of ripe mandarin, orange blossom, angelica and a slight whiff of lemon curd and smoke.
The palate is vibrant and zesty, offering layer upon layer of fruit whilst being immaculately balanced by an oak-driven spiciness and a lovely rich, creamy texture. Fantastic ageing potential.
2018 Syrah - this wine spends 18 months in a mixture of 500L Australian Oak foudres and 600L demi-muids, and has an intense nose of cassis and black olive, with slight hints of graphite.
Incredibly complex and concentrated palate, with rich flavours of ripe plum, black cardamom and hints of ground pepper and to***co, as well as cured meats and green olive. Silky-textured tannins and a vibrant acidity to balance.
2018 Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon - matured for 22 months in 80% new light toast, long seasoned French oak.
A rich nose of mulberry, damson and wild strawberry, with hints of smoke and sweet spice.
Beautifully refined and well textured palate, with ripe red fruits, lavender and thyme. Fine grained, powdery tannins make this unmistakably Cabernet Sauvignon. A lovely fresh acidity, big notes of to***co and clove, as well as black fruits lingering on the finish.
A long post today but anything shorter wouldn't have been able to do these wines justice!
They're all currently open in the shop so pop down and grab a glass!
Cinco de Mayo!
Next Wednesday is Cinco de Mayo, the day that Mexico marks its victory over France at the battle of Puebla on 5th May 1862, and has since become a worldwide celebration of all things Mexican!
To join in the festivities, we'll be offering a 10% discount on any Mexican products, with a price of ยฃ60 or less, until 5th May.
Also keep an eye out for traditional Mexican sipping cups, free with any bottle bought (pictured โก๏ธ).
Alternatively, if you can't make it down to the shop, head to our website and have a look through our Cinco de Mayo store for all things Mexican.
Happy celebrating everyone!! ๐๐ธ
๐ปโ๏ธ๐ป We are LOVING the sunshine on Bath this week, and we've got plenty of delightful chilled bevs to help you out on those tough picnic afternoons...
๐ First up from local favourites is Pomme Pomme, a delicious blend of their classic keeved cider with another member of the "pomme" family - tart, refreshing quince. Lovely floral notes, crisp acidity and the distinctive soft sweetness of the Pilton house style. What more could you want?
๐ On the right is a new brewery for us, the wonderful from Birmingham. The fantastically named "84 Gold + Grill Wonderland Special" is a marshmallow, pineapple and white guava sour - a positive riot of sweet, juicy tropical fruits with a bracingly tart backbone.
Both are absolute belters, and waiting in our fridge just for you. Pop in and say hi!
As its St George's day, we thought we'd showcase another stonkin English product.
produce some amazing spirits; their whiskies and vodkas are all fantastic products and their gin has become the favourite of nearly everyone that has come into our shop.
Today we're talking about their 2015 Odyssey Barley Single Malt.
This single malt was the first ever whisky to be distilled in the Cotswolds. 100% locally grown, floor malted barley is mashes and fermented for four full days before being used and matured in ex bourbon and STR (shaved, toasted and recharred) Red wine barrels.
On the nose there's a ton of honey and butterscotch, layers with light fruits and a hint of marzipan.
The palate is rich, dry and malty, lots of dark sugar, spice and seville orange marmalade.
Long and resinous finish, with dark red fruits and a hint of treacle.
Happy St George's day and have a good weekend everyone! ๐ฅ๐๐ป
Calling any and all whisky lovers ๐ฅ๐
If you've not tried anything from before, you're seriously missing out.
The whiskies these guys produce have become fast and firm favourites with both customers and staff.
This guy in particular is an absolute delight - the third installment in their Whiskymaker's Reserve series, which truly explores the art of blending and oak maturation.
This single malt, bottled at 54% abv, was drawn from the finest Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez, cream sherry and red wine casks.
A rich and expressive nose with incense, spiced chocolate and treacle tart.
Warming oak spice leads into notes of golden syrup, aromatic spice and date, a ton of honeyed fruit and cinnamon linger on the finish.
This evening we'll be having the pleasure of trying their next release in the series, the Whiskymaker's Reserve No. 4, so watch this space ๐๐ฅ

The owners of both wineries will be joining to present their wines, which is something we're very excited about!
Tickets are available online via the link in our bio.
We're looking forward to seeing you all there!
