A lot of you have asked if candles are toxic, so I decided to explain the difference.

Toxic or not?????

Paraffin candles and beeswax candles differ in several ways, including their composition, environmental impact, and effects on health.

Paraffin candles are made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource that requires extensive mining and refining. During the production process, paraffin wax is often bleached and treated with various chemicals to enhance its appearance and scent. When burned, paraffin candles emit toxic chemicals, including benzene, toluene, and formaldehyde, which can contribute to POOR INDOR AIR quality and health problems like headaches, allergies, and respiratory issues.

In contrast, beeswax candles are made from the natural wax produced by honeybees. Beeswax is a renewable resource that is sustainably harvested without the use of chemicals or synthetic processes. When burned, beeswax candles emit negative ions, which can help PURIFY THE AIR by neutralizing pollutants and allergens like dust and mold. Beeswax candles also have a naturally sweet, honey-like scent that is free from synthetic fragrances and additives.

Overall, choosing beeswax candles over paraffin candles is a healthier and more eco-friendly choice. Beeswax candles burn cleaner, last longer, and have a more natural, pleasant scent. Plus, by supporting sustainable beekeeping practices, you're helping to protect our pollinators and support a healthy ecosystem.

My name is Anamaria, I am the face behind Hetica. I was born in Transylvania, Romania, and I've moved to England eight years ago together with my husband Marius.

I am a dog mom to my perfect French Bulldog, Jax. He loves cuddles and bananas (he is a bit of a monkey).

I spend most of my time in the studio creating new products. I am obsessed with aromatherapy candles. Every time I'm lighting up a candle, instantly makes me happier!
