Mince pies have had many names on their journey from their first incarnations in medieval times, one such name was wayfarers’ pies – as they were given to travellers to warm their bellies on long winter nights. We strongly encourage celebrating the spirit of Yuletide by making a batch this winter and offering to a homeless shelter or charity. They would also make the perfect gift for anyone who is about to embark on a new path or challenge. The warmth from the spices is very fine, and baking these pies as gifts, showing someone you care is very powerful heart-warming magic as well.
