Music Workshop

The boys are back in town! & will be joining us for an evening for all musicians! One that will undoubtedly motivate & inspire us no matter what our musical journey. We’ll be hosting the event at our lovely partners locksbrook art and design campus. If you don’t know the guys go check out the podcast for a taste. Tickets available via our website in the bio. On Sat 13th, we will be taking to the stage for from 10:15 am to 12:15. The final of our 3 'MUW Fest' shows culminates at one of the most special and significant events of the year in Bath. The carnival is a city-wide event that brings so much life, colour, music diversity, and joy to the city. It spreads that throughout the year with incredible work with so many people from all backgrounds. Incredibly it is a free event and one that after so many years is now under threat due to lack of funding. A cheeky trip down the M6 was taken just last week,​​​​​​​​​A trip to look at somewhere special that soon our students will see.​​​​​​​​​A gigahub charge and in half an hour we were walking around the sights,
Where our students will soon create some unforgettable nights...

Okay, so I'm a significantly better drum teacher than poet, but I did have a go, at least. Maybe this is why they don't let drummers write songs.

However what we have planned for later in the year is going to be flippin epic. This support from to make this happen is changing the trajectory of these young musicians lives...2024...What a ride!

This Saturday, we will be hosting the stage at BRLSI's brilliant Discovery Weekend in Queens Square, Bath. The stage starts at 10:30 a.m. with science on it. We will have Live music throughout the day, including our 'MuwFest' 2024 student show from 12:30. Music will play through until 20:00, so join us and BRLSI for their 200th birthday celebrations as they take over Queen Square for a FREE family-friendly weekend.​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​.

One of the things that makes the shows so special is these people right here* Students that have ventured off to pastures new and returned to help out or the older ones who have been involved for years and now offer to help with load ins, pack downs, stage management and organisation. This not only helps us immensely but opens eyes to worlds that they might not have known existed and skills they might not have known they had! It can also give them dangerous levels of power when they are given a clipboard 😝 Whatever the reasons or outcomes, the true joy comes from getting to spend time with these awesome people and seeing them shape and inspire the younger generation coming up beneath them. Without them the shows would not be what they are so Thankyou to each and every one of you ❤️ *(plus a couple that had already left) ​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​.

Wednesday's Komedia was an absolute blast. 70+ performers took to the stage and absolutely blew us away. Seeing a record amount of people come and watch and create such a beautiful environment for these students of all ages to revel in the absolute joy of playing live was magic. These nights, as a teacher, playing alongside or watching your students on that stage, learning, growing in stature and confidence in front of your eyes and gaining experience as musicians are the most emotionally enveloping experiences for a teacher and ones that inspire us and bring us more joy than it's possible to sum up in words. THANK YOU to each and every one of you performers for believing in yourselves and getting up on that stage. One show down, two to go... K

We will be joining BRLSI for their 200th birthday celebrations as they take over Queen Square for a FREE family-friendly weekend on 29-30 June, which will be jam-packed with free science and crafting activities, live music and performances, exhibits, open-air games and EVERYONE is invited! 🥳​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We'll be bringing our full show back to Queens Square and programming live music all day Saturday with a mix of our Jam Lab bands, both young and old, and some other awesome musicians.

SUMMER JAM LAB - Holiday ​​​​​​​​​Join the Ultimate Summer Music Experience at Jam Lab: Five-Day Workshops for Young Musicians​​​​​​​​​In Bath, July/August

This summer, young musicians have an exciting opportunity to join, rehearse and perform in a band at Jam Lab’s immersive five-day live performance workshop. Designed for aspiring artists aged 10 and up, these sessions will run from July to August, offering a unique and creative experience for participants.

Workshop Dates:
• Workshop #1: 22nd July - 26th July
• Workshop #2: 29th July - 3rd August
• Workshop #3: 5th August - 9th August
• Workshop #4: 12th August - 16th August

Daily Schedule:
• Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Drop off welcome from 9:00 AM at our coffeehouse

Jam Lab's Group Music Making and Performance workshops are designed to nurture creativity and foster connections among local young musicians.
Whether you sing or play an instrument, this is your chance to collaborate with other creatives and perform live.

Costs: £265 per five-day workshop, participants will be grouped by rough age groups and instrument, ensuring an optimal learning environment. FREE PLACES AVAILABLE - as part of our scholarship programme we are offering 4 free places so if you are on UC or part of one of our partner organisations please tick the scholarship box to apply. (This will be on a first come first serve basis and dependant on instrumental availability per week)
