Today marks the first anniversary of our opening. It’s been quite the year having been shut from March through to August. But what a year it has been. I’m delighted at how much the pitch has been used. We now average over 200 users every day which is fantastic. We’ve also engaged with a number of local charities helping young people in the community. Bright Emotions FACES, BrunoBrazilianSoccerSchool, and YMCA.
I’d also like to give a special thanks to all the users of the pitch and our sponsors. Hatters Home & Style, Eco Cooling, Blue Chip, Select Equip, Cleveland Land Services, Surfacing Standards, Box & Defeo, Bullerwell Insurance, Woods Hardwick and Macintyre Hudson
Excited to be helping Bright Emotions deliver football based support to young people in Bedford. On Wednesday nights from 23rd September Bright Emotions will be running fun sessions to help young people especially important during these challenging times
EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR FOOTBALL & FEELINGS SESSIONS. FOCUSING ON EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT ⚽️🧡 Trained Football Coach and Emotional Literacy Coach at every session. STARTS 23/09/2020 DM for more details or to book a place🙌
Not the way I thought the first year of BAYS would go but after being closed for over 13 weeks we finally start our phased reopening with BPR teams resuming training on Tuesday. Training will follow FA guidelines with small groups of six and social distancing observed. Hopefully we’ll be able to extend this to all users soon and proper games too.
URGENT APPEAL With more charities signing up to use the facility we need donations of your un-used football boots. Please have a look for any old pairs that you might have kicking around that would be suitable for a young person to wear. You can drop off any donations at .bedford or send us a message
A big thank-you to our new sponsors Hatters Home Furnishings and Selectequip. Our sponsors and users enables the charity to fulfill its community and charitable objectives

With games being cancelled across the county due to waterlogged pitches it’s great to see BPR teams going ahead on our all weather 3G
Thank you to the local business who have agreed to sponsor BAYS Sporting Facilities. Their contributions will enable us to employ a dedicated coach to provide football coaching to other local charities. If you are also interested in supporting BAYS please contact us at [email protected]
On Saturday 16th November 2019 BAYS Sporting Facilities officially opened its new 3G all weather pitch. The event was attended by the Mayor Dave Hodgson who formally opened the site cutting the ribbon to the pitch. The event saw a fantastic cheerleading display and music from Mark Rutherford School students, followed by 5 aside matches with past and present Bedford Park Rangers players. The event was also supported by previous BPR chairmen including Mick Rutter who helped set up the club back in 1968.
Do you have football boots in the garage that are still usuable but no longer fit or you no longer wear… BAYS can help you out.
As part of our plan to provide football to all in the community we are looking for donations of any unwanted or no longer required football boots, all sizes childrens to adults.
If you can help out please send us a message to arrange drop off

BAYS Sporting Facilities is a new charity setup to develop people through sport.
It has been designed to provide an environment that enables the community to develop their sporting participation and achievements.
The purpose of the facility will be to support the following:
Mark Rutherford School sports curriculum
Bedford Park Rangers Youth Football Club
Community and Charity Groups
It is widely recognised that increased participation in sports has a significant impact on many aspects of life. It provides focus, discipline, roles models, social interaction, health benefits and more importantly fun. Participation in sport especially team sports has significant impact on aspirations and attitudes to learning
The aim of the Charity is to provide a safe, top class facility that will enable the increased participation of sporting activities.
Delighted to have the BPR teams finally training at their new home facility under the floodlights.
After almost three years of planning we're finally open at the new BAYS 3G pitch. It was great to kick off with a friendly between the two BPR U17 teams.
