A great day was had by all yesterday at our very first GrassStock. Long may it run...

Thanks to all the bands and artists who played, the people who came, listened, danced and cheered, Paul from Ossia Music School for sound, the The Hudson Bar staff, Tina and Ciaran at Avalon Arts who transformed the Haymarket Arcade into a mini Camden Market, the volunteers namely Meghan, Louise, Shannon, Rodney and Jenny and last but not least Johnny Cordner for the graphic design, help with sound, door and for generally just being a major supporter of the festival.

See you all next year!!!

GrassStock GrassStock is a new Belfast festival. A fun filled foot stomping day of bluegrass, americana, roots, blues and alt-country music at the Haymarket Arcade and Hudson Bar. There will also be an arts and crafts fayre.

Unfortunately the guitarist of The White Mansions has broken his arm so the band won't be with us next Saturday. I hope he recovers quickly and they get back on the road soon. We've just booked The Greasy Coats from Dublin in their place. Looking forward to hearing these guys live...roll on next Saturday!!!!

Wookalily, a female led roots band who turf out timeless songs from the bogs of Ireland to the bayous of Louisiana, will also be playing GrassStock. Their own songs have recently gained some recognition by the International Bluegrass Music Association in Nashville and they will also feature on this year's IBMA award winning 'Daughter's of Bluegrass' album singng a Dixie and Tom T Hall song (country music hall of famers).
