A group of science teachers from the Fermanagh Area Learning Community met on 13 June for a day of collaborative learning on Sustainable Energy Education. The day was facilitated by SSESW academic Dr Hazel Khamanra and Dr Nathan Skillen from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Thanks to Encirc, Derrylin for a tour of their glass factory as they journey towards Net Zero in large scale manufacturing, and also for providing lunch. The day informed the teachers about the developing practices in Sustainable Energy Use in Northern Ireland and there were opportunities to consider how these could be incorporated into the classroom.

JOB! We're are recruiting for Lecturer (Education) Sociology and Quantitative Methods (two 12-month posts).
The School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work is a school of social scientists who want to make a difference to the world. We want to enhance social justice nationally and internationally. Making a social difference to us means working with local communities to improve lives. It means doing research that has a real-world impact. It also means preparing critical citizens and strong professionals, who in turn can strengthen communities and professions. It means engaging with stakeholders, with policymakers, with voluntary organisations and with government agencies.
