The Kids in Context Lab, led by Jocelyn Dautel in School of Psychology at Queenâs University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow with research interests in the development of religious and social cognition.
The successful candidate will be an active member of the John Templeton Foundation funded project, titled âDeveloping Belief: The Development and Diversity of Religious Cognition and Identity in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.â This is an excellent opportunity to also join a broader international, cross-cultural, collaborative network of researchers conducting innovative âteam scienceâ in order to answer big questions in developmental science; more information can be found at developingbelief.com. The postdoctoral researcher will be directly joining the Kids in Context Lab at Queenâs University Belfast (led by Jocelyn Dautel; Twititer ) and collaborating with the Helping Kids! Lab at University College Dublin (led by Laura Taylor; Twitter ), as well as Aidan Feeney (QUB) and John Coley (Northeastern University).
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
Or are about to obtain a PhD in Psychology or a relevant area such as Cognitive or Behavioural Science.
Recent relevant research experience.
Demonstrable experience of using quantitative research methodologies and techniques relevant to the research project, including ONE or more of the following:
Proven expertise in conducting reliable cross-cultural studies
Demonstrable expertise in longitudinal design and analysis with parents and children
Experience in designing and running experimental studies with children
Experience with mixed-method studies with families, including coding naturalistic conversations.
Proven experience of using statistical packages to analyse, interpret and present on quantitative data.

The Department of Anthropology at Stanford University seeks a postdoctoral fellow to participate in a Templeton-funded project on spiritual presence and mind that uses both ethnographic and experimental methods, combining anthropology and psychology. Most but not all data are collected. The ideal candidate will have well developed statistical methods skills. Applicants holding PhDs from anthropology, psychology and sociology and related fields are encouraged to apply. Skill in statistical methods and an interest in the questions is more important than prior work in the area. The position is for one year, renewable to two, with a starting salary of $70,000 or commensurate with experience and skill. The start date is flexible but could begin this autumn. Very happy to announce that Jon Lanman, in collaboration with Lois Lee (Kent), Aiyana Willard (Brunel), Stephen Bullivant (St. Mary's), and Miguel Farias (Coventry) will be leading a multi-year programme entitled Explaining Atheism: The Causal Origins of Individual and Societal Non-belief.
The project is funded by ÂŁ2.7m from the John Templeton Foundation and will begin in January, 2022.
