I can’t believe it’s our FINAL pop-up this Saturday. I’ve loved the past few months, getting back behind the counter and seeing you all.

For those planning to freeze their treats, I suggest wrapping them individually in cling film before placing them in the freezer. When you’re ready to eat them, take a treat out of the freezer and let it defrost fully while still wrapped. 👌

A few updates for you:

Our next and final pop-up is on Saturday, 6th July. This will be your last chance to grab KLC goodies until at least the end of September, so be sure to stock up and fill your freezers!

Pre-orders for the pop-up, which worked well last time and helped prevent queues, will launch tomorrow (Thursday) at 11 am on our website.

We’ll be open this Friday from 10 am to 1 pm for takeaway drinks. Stop by for a drink and a chat!

Thank you so much for the overwhelming interest in our shop furniture. I’ve received tons of messages and am considering the best way to handle this. Sorry for not getting back to everyone yet!

Ok guys, so important news for our next pop up sale on Saturday. We will be opening online pre orders at 9am tomorrow morning.

Here’s the deal:

⭐️ pre orders are for our next pop up on Saturday 8th June. We’ll be open 10am-3pm and collections must be made between this time.

⭐️ pre orders are for pick’n’mix cakes, ie you can select whatever you want from our selection, the only rule is you must order a minimum of 4.

⭐️ if you can’t or don’t pre order, we’ll still have a full selection of cakes available in the shop on Saturday.

⭐️ there will be a limited number of preorders available as we trial this new system. Pre orders will close on Wednesday 5th June at 10am.

⭐️ We will also have specials that will only be available to buy on the day. Feel free to grab these when collecting your order.

⭐️ Our freshly baked sausage rolls will be available on the day.

⭐️ Again, you don’t have to pre order, walk ins are more than welcome and we’ll be open 10am-3pm on Saturday with a counter full of cake, coffees, milkshakes and soft serve.

Ok guys, here are our FINAL three pop-up dates!

I wanted to update you all on where I’m at and share our future plans for KLC.

Honestly, I feel like I’m thriving right now. Taking a break has changed my life, allowing me to reconnect with my family and rediscover parts of myself that haven’t existed for a really long time. I feel like a fully functioning human again, for the first time in forever!

So, the plan moving forward for Kimmy Loves Cake includes these next three pop-up dates, a few more postal drops, and a Father’s Day collection somewhere in between. After the final date on July 6th, we will close to carry out some work on the shop. Our plan is to divide the shop into two, moving our current kitchen towards the front and creating a separate unit at the back (available for rent!).

I’ll be honest—I didn’t love owning a coffee shop. It didn’t allow me the time to be creative, spend time with my family, or have the mental freedom to deal with life. So, that side of the business won’t be returning. I’m going back to my takeaway bakery roots, and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’ll be baking all the cakes, making all the coffee, and serving all of you amazing people.

On a cheesy note, I know you all miss these (as do I!), so we’ll be running grilled cheese pop-ups every now and then too.

We hope that all the work will be complete and ready for us to reopen weekly in September.

I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your compassion and understanding while I’ve hit pause on the KLC journey. Without your words, I honestly don’t think I would be where I am now. You are all so wonderful.

It felt so good to get back into the kitchen and bake all of the postal boxes. I did cut the orders off in the end as I was slightly concerned I wouldn’t get them all individually wrapped, boxed and labelled in time 😆 But we did it!

I have to say that baking is really where my heart is and having the space and freedom to fully enjoy being in the kitchen is really fulfilling.

I’ve got some updates coming your way on pop up dates and what my plans look like going forward but for now happy Sunday everybody 💛

5 sleeps to go! Who’s coming this Saturday??

I’m Back!
Well kind of….

My cake and coffee cravings have gone off the scale so I need to do something about it! But first I want to say how grateful I am for all the comments, messages, cards and emails of support I’ve received over the past couple of months. I can’t express to you how much they are helping me in finding my peace, happiness and sanity. And for those waiting for a sign to make your health and wellbeing a priority, this is it. A burnt cake is no good to anyone!

Now the exciting bit… I’m coming back, for a ONE DAY flash opening!

Saturday March 16th we’ll be throwing open the doors for take out cake and coffee. You’ll find me back on the counter, ready to sling some coffees and I cannot wait to see you all!

This is a step on my journey, I’m still working on what the future KLC looks like. So for now get it in your diaries and come get your Kimmy fix!

Firstly, wishing you all a very Happy New Year 💛 I’ve felt pretty apprehensive about sharing this but here goes.

Let’s rewind 12 months to January 23 for the full picture – the business was up for sale. Initially, I had decided to part ways with Kimmy Loves Cake, feeling disconnected and having lost the love and passion. However, as we progressed through the selling process, an inner voice told me it wasn’t right; my heart couldn’t let Kimmy Loves Cake go.

The ensuing months became a relentless struggle, wrestling with my thoughts, unable to decide the future of KLC.

Despite the continued growing success, the personal cost over the last few years has been immense. Creating and sustaining a profitable hospitality business in the midst of rising costs requires an immense effort. Whilst I am extremely proud of what I have achieved, ultimately, I find myself burnt out and the extreme levels of stress from running the business are affecting my health.

Few grasp the personal toll amid the business’s success. From painting ceilings while seven months pregnant to returning to work two weeks after my first baby, navigating a second pregnancy’s complications, going through early labor, PND, coping with COVID lockdowns, and even attempting to bake the day after my dad’s passing last year—the business has consumed me.

I’ve sacrificed time with friends, been absent for my kids, and reached a point of burnout where conversing is a struggle, both physically and mentally. I need space to move forward, hence KLC will not be reopening as I take some time to rest and focus on myself and my family.

Looking ahead, I crave the time and space to be creative and rediscover what makes me happy and fulfilled. This isn’t the end of KLC, i’ll be back, but for now the business will be temporarily closed.
