🎉 Boardgame Cafe Social 🎉
Join us for an evening of fun and games at our board game café social event!
During this event, participants will have the chance to play a wide selection of board games, ranging from classic favourites to modern titles. The event will feature different gaming tables and groups, allowing participants to choose the games they are interested in and join others for a friendly competition or cooperative play. Whether you prefer strategy games, party games, or cooperative games, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
This event includes a buffet of chicken wings (boneless and bone in), oyster mushroom wings (along with sauces to personalise to your own tastes) and fries.
This event is a great opportunity for graduates, students and apprentices to network and socialise with like-minded individuals.
Please note a £5 entry fee is required per person on arrival at 18.00.

Networking Evening
Join us for our networking evening hosted in the heart of Birmingham at Charles House rooftop terrace located above Link Engineering’s office.
This is a great opportunity to network people in the industry and expand your contacts as well as enjoying incredible views of Birmingham.
Food and refreshments will be provided, so come along for an evening of networking.
ONLINE WEBINAR
Join the ICE Early Careers Network West Midlands for a presentation on the role of sustainable transportation systems in achieving net zero emissions with National Highways.
This event will explore the need for sustainable transportations and the importance to act fast on the increasing carbon emissions. Paul Unwin RPP MAPM FCIHT, regional sponsor at National Highways, will cover roadmaps for achieving sustainability across these three areas:
- Strategies to reduce corporate emissions
- Maintenance and construction methods
- Road User emissions
Paul will discuss these different areas and initiatives to encourage a shift towards low carbon transport.
This is a great opportunity for those wanting to learn more about the construction industry or simply want to find out more about the sector.

The ICE Early Careers West Midlands are hosting a joint event with the ICE Early Careers Network East Midlands.
Inspired by the popular television show ‘University Challenge’, teams from each region will compete in a lively quiz competition, to test their knowledge and skills in a series of challenging trivia rounds.
What to expect:
- Engineers will have the opportunity to connect with peers during breaks and networking sessions.
- Attendees can come as groups or alone, as teams will be mixed up and allocated on the day
- Participants can expect a supportive and inclusive environment where they can engage in friendly competition and collaboration
- Refreshments will be provided

- Connect with other engineers and build valuable professional relationships
- Put engineering knowledge to the test in a fun and engaging quiz format

Join the ICE Early Careers Network West Midlands for an evening of free to play pinball machines, held at TILT in Birmingham. TILT is a city arcade that has over 20 pinball machines.
This event will also provide pizza for attendees. This event is a great opportunity for graduates, students and apprentices to network and socialise with like-minded individuals.

📣 COMMUNCATIONS TASK GROUP 📣
Over the next few months a series of lunchtime seminars will be held online providing guidance on how to communicate well within industry-specific themes or contexts.
Although open to everyone, this event may be particularly useful to those preparing for their Professional Review at CEng level.
The purpose of the event is to stimulate discussion on current issues within the industry. It may enable attendees to become more confident in writing arguments logically and clearly within a given scenario and a response format.

As part of the ICE President Keith Howell’s visit to the region, members of all grades are invited to join this ask the President session. This is a great opportunity to learn about Keith’s life and career, his role in the ICE, and to answer any burning questions you may have!
There will also be the opportunity to network with other likeminded early civil engineers over a buffet lunch.
