What is the most common size tips you use and what jobs do you use them for?

1988 v 2024
We are often asked how long will my machine last?
We always say, if you look after it and regularly maintain it, it will last a life time.
Last week, we were asked if there was anything we can do to get it working properly again.
Challenge accepted- it only needed a standard service. We had to replace a few parts that have been obsolete for year but it's back up and running and ready for another 36 years.

Date stamp on this machine 1988 for its build.
Side by side with the 2024 version, newly built ready for its new home.

Anyone got an older Aquaflame or microweld than 1988?

Why service your Aquaflame or microweld?
This little machine looked fine on the outside but had started to misbehave. The flame had got smaller and it just didn't operate properly.

When we opened it up and looked inside the poor thing needs time TLC.

The tubing used inside is chemical resistant but not chemical proof. Over time it goes hard and brittle and you face the danger of the chemicals spilling out which is a health and safety issue buy also if the KoH spills inside the machine it can damage the electrical components.
We recommend you service your machine every 2 years or 4000 working hours.

If you want your machine servicing please contact Aquaflame via email on [email protected]
We need the make and model of your machine and your full contact details please. If it is an Aquaflame the serial number on the back help us find the history of your machine.

If you need component like new tips or torch ets contact.
[email protected]

Thank you.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Site tubes!
We recommend that your machine is serviced every 2 years or 4000 working hours.
The components we use are chemical resistant not chemical proof. As part of the service all the tubing is replaced. The booster tubing is a special plastic that helps with the resistance of the MEK which will dissolve standard plastic tubing.
This is one that needs some serious TLC.

We are always repeating the same information. To try to prevent this happening.
Please pack, extra pack and pack again when sending in a service. Machines are heavy.

This Model 80 was sent in a flimsy box and had dropped out of the side!!!
It's now a service & damaged control.

If you send any machine back to us please use a very sturdy box with lot of packing on the base of the box and around the sides.
The machine needs to be secure.

Also Mahoosive signs for the couriers! This way up and handle with care.

We have to see your Machines getting damaged.

Here is the video of the melt up we did with the 1200 Plus. We've still got a few offical things to sign off but we are not far off.
This was 20gms of silver melted in 60 seconds more impressively without my glasses on! Time taken from heating to melting not the messing about in the video and panicking as I couldn't see much. 🫣
This machine runs without pulsing on and off as much so it's a constant 1850 degrees using MEK as the coolant in the booster.
Louise Banks this is for you.

Going going gone!
20gms of silver scrap in 60 seconds.

Flipping eck that's a big one. This is a Number 16 tip running without the pulsing of gas flow.
I love R&D days.

Hard to film as the flame is so big.

Coming soon.

Customer: My machine doesn't work and it leaks!
Aquaflame: opens up machine and spots a slight problem, Like a massive hole in the tubing!

This is what the chemicals do if you don't service your machine regularly. We use chemical resistant tubes but not chemical proof. If the tubes aren't replaced regularly they go brittle and your machine won't work.

This poor thing hasn't been tended for a long time and we are not sure if we'll get it working as the inner cell is so thin it might not be able to produce gas. We'll give it a quick test and see what happens.
Stay tuned for what we find.

Here is the 46 year old machine back in action. Ready for another 1/2 century of jewellery making.

Photos from Aquaflame Systems's post 13/09/2023

Last week we had 3 machine in to assess. The one machine hadn't worked for years and had been in storage. It's owner didn't hold out much hope and asked us to scrap it.
We assessed all 3 machine and said we can get them all working.

This machine has a test date label of 25 August 1977 so it's 46 years old. It was created in the year of the queen's silver jubilee!

It's was just a bit neglected but after some TLC and a few modifications to bring it up date. Its has a resprayed case and is now as good as new.
We can rebuild them.

Photos from Aquaflame Systems's post 12/09/2023

Update from the poor damaged machine that was delivered for its service with the chemicals still inside.
We have stripped it out and given it a new case. All components have been serviced or replaced.
It certainly looks a lot better and now runs like new.

Photos from Aquaflame Systems's post 06/09/2023

This is what happens if you don't remove the chemicals when you ship your machine.
This standard service is now a complete rebuild. Thankfully, the transformer survived its ordeal.
