Could you be part of our new project Where we can call home?
We are looking for people from Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole’s diverse communities to tell us about how their journeys have led them to make BCP their home so that others can learn about the rich, cultural heritage of BCP.

Our community researchers can come and talk to you to record your stories to share as part of an exhibition, discuss as a podcast, include in learning materials for schools, and create an historical archive for future generations to study and research.

To find out more contact Louise Boston-Mammah at [email protected] or Tony Morrison at [email protected] and we will be able to put you in touch with a community researcher near you

Where We Can Call Home A exciting new community heritage project researching, recording and celebrating the contribution of people from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole’s ethnically diverse communities. The years between the census of 2002 and 2021 have seen a huge shift to a more culturally and socially diverse local authority. This project aims to raise awareness of the rich cultural heritage of BCP and the legacy of the people who live here.
Citizens Advice BCP will work with a range of local community partners and researchers to gather oral histories from people living and working in BCP, and how their journeys have led them to make BCP their home. These previously undocumented histories will help everyone gain an insight into the culture, place and memories of BCP’s diverse communities as their lived experience is documented and shared.
