This week has been full of colour with bonfires and fire works. We even managed an indoor bonfire with chocolate sparklers.🎆🎇

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🕸

This week we have continued our Halloween inspired activities and celebrated Diwali. The children have explored colours and light, carved pumpkins and have enjoyed dressing up!

Exploring Autumn both indoors and out. Matching pictures on a scavenger hunt, mixing Autumn colours, making Autumn pictures using sticks and leaves. There are so many textures to feel and sights to see.🍁🍂🍃

There are lots of ways to use our senses. We have been exploring textures through the Autumn leaves, making colours explode with salt and food colouring, splashing in the water and making music. Even the youngest children have been exploring the sensory tent with lights and sounds.

This week we have been have been exploring space. We have played with space dust, made mission control, decorated our own helmets and looked at the story Whatever Next.

This week we have celebrated World Animal Day, making animal masks, putting fingerprint spots on leopards and giving the farm animals a good wash after playing in the mud. We made Autumn potions from leaves and pinecones and used our imaginations to put on puppet shows. We have had so much fun!

This week we have been exploring Autumn. We have collected leaves, made trees and felt the texture of the crisp dry leaves and the freshly fallen leaves, looking at their colours and shapes as well. We have also made an opticians and learned about how to look after our planet through putting litter in the bin and keeping our oceans clean.

This week we have celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day by listening to clues to find treasure and made a pirate sensory tray to dig and explore. We had a dinosaur adventure and made giant bubbles. We also had a space adventure, playing with moon dust and making rockets.🚀👽☠️🦖🧑‍🚀

We have had a lovely 'Fun Week' this week. We have made big bubbles to chase, had our faces painted, explored the texture tray and had a talent show.

We have explored different textures this week using our hands and feet. The shaving foam was smooth and the rice snaps tickled our toes. We also harvested the rest of our potatoes and enjoyed mark making on a large scale outside.

A few more photos from our fancy dress and show week as well as learning about people who help us. When asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The children replied "Doctors, Police men and women and Fire fighters" just to name a few.

We have had a Summer festival, been fruit picking and had lots of fun exploring this week. Our homegrown plums and apples are great in cooking. Please keep an eye out in the main entrances to take your pick!

We have been taking part in Olympic game events, exploring wild animals and their habitats and it was time to pick our potatoes. They were very yummy!

Happy Yorkshire Day!

This week we have been celebrating friendship week through making handprints and friendship bracelets for our friends. 👫

The children have also been extending their interest in space by using textured materials to create planets. 🪐💥

Our younger children have been exploring textures through touch, taste and smell.

Outdoor play is lots of fun, especially when there’s sun. ☀️ The children have explored nature and used their gross motor skills to make the most of the nice weather.

What an incredible time we had at our Pre-school Leaver's Fun day. The entertainer was fantastic and the children all enjoyed the activities and the show.

We have been having lots of fun exploring colours and textures through bubble painting, cornflour and ribbon dancing. We have also made silly faces, had toasted marshmallows at our campsite and celebrated 75 years of the NHS in our hospital role play.

We have celebrated Fairy week with a a visit from the Cottingley fairies. We made potions and crowns as well as wands and went on a fairy hunt. The children made a fairy garden and the fairies brought a new bubble machine for us to say thank you. We also have picked the peas that we have grown and enjoyed them for snack and released our butterflies. What a busy week we’ve had!
