Have a lovely break! βοΈ
Year 1 have finished their art unit by creating self portrait sketches. They are absolutely amazing!
Year 1 have been learning all about measurement in maths. They have been using water to measure the capacity of different containers in their outdoor area.
Year 1 had a great time enjoying their science story session provided by the national media museum! After acting out the story of the three little pigs, the children worked in groups to build their own shelter to protect the pigs. The wolf then tested each shelterβs strength using a hair dryer to try to blow it down!
Year 2 have consistently achieved the highest attendance figures this year and so earned themselves a treat! They chose an ice cream party!
On Wednesday morning nursery and reception had some visitors in from the Science and Media Museum to read them a βScience storyβ. All of the children listened beautifully to this and more importantly they confidently helped them to tell and act out βThe Three Little Pigs.β They had so much fun and also realised the strongest material was the bricks and this is why it is a good choice of material to build a house.

Part 3 of Year 1βs trip to EUREKA! They finished the Gross Lab workshop and then went into their favourite part - the Living and Working Together Gallery! The children got to work as bankers, shop assistants, builders and postal workers. They could use bank cards to withdraw EUREKA! money, crack codes to open vaults and deliver mail around the museum. They were superstars!
Part 2 of Year 1βs trip to EUREKA! They finished looking round the All About Me Gallery, had some lunch and played outside before enjoying a Gross Lab workshop! Here they learnt about scabs, burps and lots of other disgusting science!
Part 1 of Year 1βs trip to EUREKA! They had a fab time visiting the Spark Gallery, All About Me Gallery and Living and Working Gallery. They were so well behaved and loved every minute!

Year 1 have been learning how to create collages as part of their self portrait unit in art!
On their trip Reception visited a real working farm in Tadcaster. They had a fabulous day. They took part in lots of fun activities, these included grinding wheat into flour, stroking the beautiful 24 year old Barnaby (Farmer Tango's favourite horse), watching the sheep and lambs being fed, having a seat on a small tractor, digging in the soil beds for worms, using magnifying glasses to explore nature and listening to the story 'Not a Stick' in the woods and then finding our own sticks and deciding what they were! Thank you so much to county trust for this fantastic free trip for our lovely children! They loved every minute of it!
