I can confirm the local speciality of coconut shrimp is the absolute daddy! This one on the seafront in Progreso is served in a coconut shell with the finest fresh mango salsa I've ever had the pleasure to send past my tonsils.

Next part of the adventure involves this view out over the gulf coast with my morning coffee from the roof terrace for a week or so....could be worse

The freshly caught grouper or the freshly caught prawns to go with your sauvignon blanc sir?.....only one answer to that dear chap...both.... immediately! Incredible.

Seriously good selection of craft and artisan beers, mostly mexican. And always at least one on draft..... right now it's a locally brewed pale ale from the Pescadores brewery. Lucky me! @ El Grifo Tulum
