Reports of fallen roadworks barriers on the A38 heading north past the Morrisons roundabout.

These are partially blocking the road.

Please approach with caution.

It's that time of the week again, thankfully it's not as bad as it has been though (famous last words!).

⛔️ Night closures are continuing at J5 of the M5 and the A38 roundabout. The remaining works look to be the Droitwich side of the motorway so access to Amphlett Way should be from the Bromsgrove direction.

🚦FOX LANE, 11th SEPT - temporary lights will be in place near to Forelands Grove whilst works by Openreach are carried out.

🚦STOURBRIDGE ROAD will have temporary lights until the 9th SEPT at the Sanders View development and then Severn Trent will shaft us all again on the 12th SEPT.

🚦OLD BIRMINGHAM ROAD, 9th-12th SEPT will have temporary lights near to Staple Flat for gas works by Cadent.

⛔️ BIRMINGHAM ROAD in LYDIATE ASH remains closed near to Singletons Nurseries whilst Severn Trent repair their burst pipe again. Hopefully they'll be finished by the 11th Sept.

🚦 A456 KIDDERMINSTER ROAD in HAGLEY, 9th - 11th SEPT will have temporary lights near to the Hagley village turn off for works by Severn Trent.

🚦The A456 further down by the garden centre will also have temporary lights from the 12th to 14th SEPT for electricity works.

If it's any consolation....Whitford Road is still open!

⛔️ The A435 in Redditch is CLOSED Northbound between Beoley Lane (the Murco petrol station) and Alcester Road (closest to the M42) due to a serious collision.

Emergency services are in attendance and the road is likely to remain closed for a while.

Please use an alternative route.

⚠️ Poor driving conditions on the roads this evening, particularly motorways.

There is also a lot of spray and surface water about.

If you're heading out any time soon, please drive to the conditions and take extra care.

⚠️ Reports of a broken down vehicle on the A38 northbound just before J1 of the M42.

⚠️ Reports of heavy traffic on Stourbridge Road as a result of the temporary traffic lights by the new Taylor Wimpey development.

Traffic is reportedly back to the mini roundabout by The Crown in Catshill.

Please allow extra time if heading this way.

⛔️ M42 currently CLOSED southbound within J2 due to a collision

Traffic is being diverted around the scene of the incident via the exit and entry slip roads at the roundabout.

The section is expected to remain closed until late morning whilst recovery work takes place

⚠️ Emergency services are dealing with an incident at the bottom of Stratford Road near to the junction of Windsor Street.

Please take care if heading this way as there are pedestrians in the road.

These photos sent in by one of our followers show the aftermath of the collision on Market Street earlier this evening (Friday 6th).

A Ford Focus collided with a Hyundai i20 before colliding with a road sign at the junction of Church Street. The driver of the Focus then ran from the scene.

Emergency services attended the scene and made both vehicles safe, along with assisting the occupants of the Hyundai, with the driver being mechanically trapped in their car.

We're told that the occupants of the Hyundai thankfully only suffered minor injuries.

If you saw the collision or either vehicle in the lead up to it, please contact Bromsgrove Police on 101.

✅ UPDATE - 2330hrs, Friday 6th September.

Overnight roadworks at J5 of the M5 have now been removed for the night.

The A38 is now open between Bromsgrove and Droitwich and all exit and entry slips at J5 of the M5 are in the process of being reopened.

The closures will commence again on Monday evening at 9pm.

⚠️ Emergency services are currently dealing with a collision on Market Street at the junction of Church Street and the bus station entrance.

Please avoid the area for the time being.

It is understood that the driver of one of the vehicles has run from the scene. If you have any information or dashcam footage, please contact the police on 101.

🗺A clearly signed diversion route will be in place so you’ll still be able to get to where you need to go, but we recommend you plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

🚓 Speeding Operation 🚓

PC Green conducted a speeding operation on Stourbridge Road, Bromsgrove, following numerous complaints from the community. Several vehicles were pulled over, and checks were completed on drivers and their cars. Educational advice was provided about road safety and the dangers of speeding.

We're pleased to report that fewer cars were exceeding the speed limit than expected. A big well done to those adhering to the speed limit and helping keep our roads safe! 👍

✅ The A449 has now reopened following an earlier collision at the Ombersley and Droitwich junction.

⚠️ Reports of a fallen tree on Washford Drive in Redditch, near to the Washford Drive/Claybrook Drive island by the Miller and Carter.

ARRESTS | Two men have been arrested after a ‘chop shop’ was discovered at a farm in Chadwick Bank, Worcestershire.

The chop shop – an illegal enterprise that deals in stolen car parts - was discovered yesterday (Tuesday 3 September) after a tracker located a stolen car at the farm in Stourport Road between Stourport-on-Severn and Crossway Green.

Officers found the stolen car near a shipping container at the site along with other stolen vehicles and property inside it.

They discovered multiple stripped vehicles, key fobs, registration plates, counterfeit vehicle identification number (VIN) plates, electric chips and nearly £1,000 in cash at the container.

Two men, aged 47 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and theft of motor vehicle. The 29-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of obstruct police officer. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

There are long delays over 9 miles on the M6 northbound between J15 and J16 due to a collision involving an overturned caravan.

Please expect delays and allow extra time.

⚠️ UPDATE - looking on the cameras, the M5 is unaffected and running well. The A38 also looks to be unaffected and the incident seems to be confined to the Harvester car park with no impact to any nearby roads.

⚠️ Reports of mud on the road through Hanbury Common and onwards towards the Jinney Ring.

This isn't being helped by the rain this morning.

⚠️ There's a lot of spray and surface water on the roads this morning which is leading to poor visibility in places.

Auto headlights often won't activate when the ambient light is too high which leaves a lot of cars unlit at the back, despite having daytime running lights at the front.

This can then lead to it being difficult to see you when there is a lot of spray.

Stick to the general rule of 'wipers on - lights on' and you won't go far wrong!
