Last month, officers from Bromsgrove were out conducting a minor operation named Op Fox, in relation to car key burglaries occurring in the areas of Hagley, Bromsgrove, Rubery and Barnt Green.

Officers patrolled these areas, conducting checks on moving vehicles they believed to be suspicious in the area at the time, while also providing police presence to prevent these offences occurring.

Remember to keep the doors to your home locked and your car keys out of view/reach. Don't leave the keys in the ignition and the vehicle unattended - these are often crimes of opportunity.

🗺️ If there are any areas you feel would benefit from these kinds of minor ops and presence, let us know - you can find the direct details of your Safer Neighbourhood Team by putting your postcode in the search at https://orlo.uk/40TXl 📱

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR | REMINDER 🚨

In July, persons on quad bikes and scramblers drove across Lickey Hills Golf Course causing significant damage to several of the golf greens.

We would like to remind you about the use of these types of vehicles on public open land. Not only did the users cause damage, but it could lead to injury of a member of public, including children, who are legitimately using the open area.

If you’ve seen or heard something in relation to the above, please tell us about it online https://orlo.uk/G4mLo

Police investigating a r**e in Bromsgrove are satisfied there is no wider risk to the public, after speaking to the woman involved and extensive enquiries were carried out.

The report was received on Sunday (28 July) that a woman may have been subject to an attack in Sanders Park.

The woman has been spoken to by experienced specialist detectives and has confirmed the alleged offence did not take place.

Extensive enquiries have also been carried out, including viewing CCTV footage which has tracked the woman’s movements and negated concerns that she may have been a victim of an attack. It is believed the report had been made in good faith.

Detective Inspector Colin Berry, of North Worcestershire CID, said: “We would always encourage anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of a r**e or sexual assault to come forward as we will always take your report seriously and thoroughly investigate to ensure offenders are apprehended.

“In this instance, the report was made in good faith, and we would like to thank the public for their support with this matter and want to reassure people there remains no wider risk to the public from this incident.

“Thankfully, in this instance, our enquiries have concluded and we would like to make it clear there is no suggestion the person initially thought to have been attacked has done anything wrong either. "

APPEAL | Detectives in North Worcestershire are asking for the public’s help for information following the theft of two vehicles in Hollywood and the attempted theft of a third car.

Between around 10pm on Tuesday night (16 July) and 2am Wednesday morning, a black Toyota Hilux was stolen, and suspects attempted to steal a black BMW X5, from two separate addresses in Sycamore Drive.

A black BMW 440 was also stolen from an address in Alcester Road.

It is suspected the offenders have used a device to obtain access to the vehicles.

Detective Constable David Hanson, of North Worcestershire CID, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has any CCTV/ or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the offenders or a vehicle they were using that may assist us with our enquiries.

“Please use this QR code that will send you to a portal where you are able to upload any relevant footage directly to us. Alternatively, please use this hyperlink - https://orlo.uk/JqjWG .

“If you are unable to do this, please get in contact with myself on 07773 050725 or via email on [email protected] and I can arrange to come and view or collect the footage.”

We had a fantastic turnout at our joint open day with Bromsgrove Fire Station on Sunday (6 July) - despite the weather!

Guests enjoyed demonstrations by the fire service and rides in the engines, while our officers showcased our police cars with the blues and twos, with plenty of opportunities for the younger visitors to dress up in police uniforms (with the help of our cadets!) 🚨

Our PCSOs were busy promoting Crime Prevention and Advice, successfully signing up 60 community members to Neighbourhood Matters.

And congratulations to one of the 60, who was the winner of a steering wheel lock as part of Op Enzyme, our cross-border operation to combat car key burglaries and vehicle crimes in North Worcestershire.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

CAR SEIZED | Officers on patrol in the Clent Hills seized a car without insurance after stopping a vehicle which was being driven in a suspicious manner.

PC Clarke and PC James were patrolling the area last Thursday evening when a BMW pulled sharply in front of them before speeding off.

After catching up with and following the vehicle, officers were made aware that the car had no insurance.

The officers attempted to pull them over, but the driver failed to stop, before pulling over in the middle of the road when all four occupants fled the scene into the surrounding hills.

They then chased after the fleeing offenders. PC Clarke detained one while colleagues combed the area however, unfortunately, the driver slipped through officers’ fingers as did the other two passengers.

Fortunately, the driver helpfully left his bank card, car keys and driver licence in the car for officers, so a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) has been completed and sent to the driver.

The vehicle in question has been seized for no insurance and remains at the police recovery site.
