An extract from our conversation on TalkTv yesterday
Always a pleasure to return to my first ever stockist although making a delivery there is not always a v profitable enterprise as I get tempted by the café and all the delicious home produced veg, meat and frozen meals. Luckily the liqueurs are selling well so get down there while stocks last!
Hip gifts from the left-to-go-wild part of the field. They put up a very spiky fight but now on their way to becoming this year’s break out beverage - Rosehip gin liqueur
What a joy to be at the opening last night and sample curated The Gaudi which contains a generous slug of Gibson’s Fig Leaf liqueur. And The Lynrace with Gibson’s blackcurrant is even better! It’s a great pleasure to collaborate with such innovative souls
Monet missed a trick picking water lilies over brambles! Time to harvest autumn’s dark fruits. Elderberries contain more Vitamin C than oranges and blackcurrants. Rich Elderberry liqueur will be ready to stave off winter’s colds and is a delicious alternative to port
The drought has left barely an autumn fruiting raspberry on the canes so it’s time for the hardier, wilder plants to step up to/onto the plate! Award winning Fig leaf liqueur, Sloe gin, Sloe rum, Crab Apple gin all ready to lift the nation’s spirits
The crab apple trees are in blossom again and it won’t be that long until this year’s fruit is in bottles of crab apple gin and then, if you’re lucky, in a 🍸 glass you’re holding. Last year’s vintage currently available exclusively on Walton st in Oxford
Some rather reluctant half term labour - pruning raspberry canes, but she was pleased that her outfit matched the sky!
The time of mellow fruitfulness - plucking fruit for one of this year’s new creations: Double Plum Rum. Ready for Christmas..
Whitecurrant harvest time in the field. No snails harmed or included in the final Whitecurrant Liqueur! Unique to us and a favourite with top mixologists and available on our website www.gibsonsorganic.co.uk
Gibson’s Organic is excited to welcome the Listening to the Land Pilgrimage this September!
Part-funded by Arts Council England, the project will see a group of pilgrims walk from London to Glasgow, along the ancient Belinus and Ellen ley lines. Along the way, they'll be creating a piece of immersive theatre and a People’s Charter, shaped by the land and the people they meet, to present at the UN Climate Conference (COP26) on 8 November 2021.
The group will be in Westwell, just outside Burford, on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September and are looking for community groups/theatre companies/land workers/artists/sustainability initiatives/MPs/press/etc to connect with along the way. Local people are invited to walk and share their ideas and perspectives, trying to reach as diverse a range of people as possible. If anyone has any ideas or contacts, please get in touch with [email protected].
