Winter Course and Dan Grading: November 2024 — Latest Club News — Red Tiger Karate Club Manchester Winter Karate Course with Simon Bligh Sensei 6th Dan and Dan Grading

All classes will be open as normal tonight. Will keep the curtains open so you can watch those fireworks out of the window whilst we train and work hard!
Don't forget to book on so we can plan our classes.

Our Stretford Grading this Sunday 10th November will be at the earlier time of 10:00am - 12:00pm due to the Manchester United rescheduled fixture.

Winter Training Camp - with Simon Bligh Sensei and Paul Wolstencroft Sensei

This Sunday 3rd November

11:00am-1:30pm at Kearsley Academy, Springfield Rd, Kearsley.

Dan Grading follows for students attempting their Shodan, Nidan and Sandan.

No need to book in advance - just turn up and pay on the day!

Congratulations to all the students who graded to their first or next belts on Sunday 27th October.

The standard on the day was excellent!

Well done to those who achieved 2nd and 1st Kyu's - Black Belt next!

James K from the Stockton Heath Dojo was the Student of the Grading - Great performance James - Keep up the fab work!

We just wanted to send you a quick reminder to let you know that most classes are running as normal this week with the exception of our Afterschool Clubs. Romiley and Cheadle classes are also closed this evening. If you can book it on the APP, your usual class will be open.

Please support our classes this half term as there are lots of events coming up that we are preparing our students for.

We have Cadet Leader & Assistant Instructor Class running this Sunday at Kearsley Academy, Springfield Rd, Kearsley, Bolton. BL4 8HY from 11.00am-12.30pm. This class runs free of charge for all Cadets and Assistants. Please support this class as we have a great session planned for you all. It is a great opportunity for all the top students in the club to come together, train and improve their teaching skills. Attendance is being recorded at these classes and medals will be awarded at the last Cadet/Assistant class of the year on 1st December.

Our Club Kyu Grading follows this from 1.00pm-3.00pm for invited students from the Bolton, Bury, Lancashire and North Manchester areas. Good luck to all those attempting their first of next grades. The deadline for registration is Wednesday 23rd October.

We have Halloween Classes running on Thursday 31st October with prizes for the scariest outfits. You don't have to dress up if you don't want to!

There is a Winter Training Course coming up on Sunday 3rd November with Paul Wolstencroft Sensei and Simon Bligh Sensei open to all students graded to yellow belt and above. You can just turn up and pay on the day for this event. Leaflets should be coming out in classes over the next couple of weeks. Our Dan Grading will follow this. Good luck to all the students and Instructors who will be attempting Black Belts up to 3rd Dan. The deadline to attempt Dan grading is 27th October.

Our Student of the Year awards is also fast approaching and we have had to move the date to Saturday 14th December from 1.00pm-3.30pm. Invites will be going out in November to those selected by our Instructors to attend this event. Anyone selected will receive a large trophy to keep and could win one of the following Awards:

Most Improved Student Award 2024
Instructors Choice Award 2024
Future Superstar Award 2024
Outstanding Dedication Award 2024

Instructors are starting to think about who to put forward, so make sure you are trying as hard as you can over the next few weeks!

*** HANDFORTH SATURDAY DOJO ANNOUCEMENT***

Paul Wolstencroft Sensei will now run two classes at Handforth Scout Hut on Saturday mornings.

Class 1: 9.00am-10.00am suitable for Beginners and students up to 6th Kyu Green Belt. Appears on the APP as 'Dojo - Handforth Saturdays Junior Grades'

Class 2: 10.00am-11.00am suitable for 5th Kyu's and above. Appears on the APP as 'Dojo - Handforth Saturdays Senior Grades'

Class Prices remain unchanged, however, you can train in both classes for £10. This option is payable on the drop down menu of the Junior Grades Class.

***Attention Adults and 6th Kyu's and above***

😬Gum Shields will become compulsory (instead of advisory) for all 6th Kyu's and above and adults from Monday 14th October.

❌If you don't have one after this date you will not be able to spar until you have invested in one.

Following a recent incident we feel this is in the best interests of everyone. Better to have a fat lip than a missing tooth. Better still to use your blocks!

We do sell gum shields on our website in various colours for £3.50 but you do not have to get them from the Club of course. Link in the comments.
