The Catherine Jones Foundation
A kitchen-table charity from Cambridge that educates Indian orphans & supports tiger conservation. We believe that education and conservation go hand-in-hand.
If children are taught about the importance of nature early in life, they go on to protect it; as a complement, learning about conservation is one of the best ways to become educated about the world and the people and creatures that inhabit it.

A new NBC News article, ‘Beyond 2015: Can World's Most Endangered Wildlife Survive?,’ examines the current state and threats facing some of our planet’s most endangered species - big cats, elephants, rhinos and other wildlife. Read the article @ http://nbcnews.to/1rYkY3k to learn about the future of these species and see what Panthera’s Senior Vice President, Andrea Heydlauff, had to say about how a new focus on law enforcement is helping to protect tigers and other big cats around the world.
Prince William attacks China over 'ignorant craving' for ivory
independent.co.uk Prince William is to launch a fierce attack on China’s ivory industry and the “ignorant craving” for supposed cures and trinkets, saying this is fuelling the slaughter of elephants and other animals by poachers.

Launching the Animal Watch. A contribution of £92 is made to the International Anti-Poaching Foundation for every watch sold.
As the Duke of Cambridge said, today, in Washington DC.
". . . . . one of the most insidious forms of corruption and criminality in the world today is the illegal wildlife trade."
He attacked those who "loot our planet to feed mankind's ignorant craving for exotic pets, trinkets, cures and ornaments derived from the world's vanishing and irreplaceable species".
Paying tribute to his father, the Prince of Wales, and his grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, he said: "They helped to bring about a revolution in attitudes towards our natural environment."
He added: "From them, I learned that our relation to nature and wildlife goes to the heart of our identity as human beings. From our sheer survival, to our appreciation of beauty and our connection to all other living things."

This is really impressive but . . . . don't try this at home! These are still wild animals with unimpaired instincts and should be respected.

CANNED HUNTING is an epic, and unfathomable horror inflicted upon lions, rhinos and elephants primarily by rich Americans in collusion with SA's government and hunting outfits (SCI, DSC etc. and their SA/African counterparts) Their objective? To kill. Paying 100s of 1000s of $$$ to kill, to "Shoot Fish in a Barrel"; ending the life of majestic mega fauna with a rain of bullets.
For what? A trophy.

There may be as few as 35 Amur leopards left in the wild and they are listed as critically endangered.
Staff at Marwell Zoo, near Wi******er (England), hope the breeding programme would mean some endangered leopards would eventually be released back into the wild.

Peerless Panthera.
Today marks International Tiger Day - a global day to raise awareness about the world's largest wild cat, and what's at stake. Unbeknownst to many, fewer than 3,200 tigers remain in the wild, & their survival is threatened due to rampant poaching for the illegal wildlife market, where their skins & body parts are traded at a high price. But all is not lost, and hope for this majestic cat remains. Read a letter from Panthera's Senior Tiger Program Director Dr. John Goodrich on new hope for tigers unveiled during Panthera's recent Tigers Forever meeting, including the sites where tigers are making a comeback & where we are gaining ground in the fight to save them @ http://bit.ly/1nE79TD.
