Cambridge SU Women's Campaign

A broad political coalition actively campaigning against misogyny, racism, ableism & sexual violence

Photos from Cambridge SU Women's Campaign's post 05/06/2024

Join us and .agenda on the 18th of June for an afternoon of nibbles, drinks and feminist discussion.

We will be plotting for a NEW and IMPROVED WomCam. Anyone who identifies with the campaign and would like to be involved is free to turn up, run for a role, table some ideas for the future committee, or just to listen and eat free food!

This represents (we hope, with your help) the start of a new era for WomCam as we will be editing our standing orders to match the new direction of the campaign. It will be an era where the campaign has real momentum behind it and it can give the students what we really want to see!

We look forward to seeing you all there !

We can't wait for this event, coming up on Wednesday!!

We will be helping to combat misinformation with a wikipedia-thon in John's Divinity School.

It's a great opportunity to mean people from passionate and motivated students across the university interested in feminist activism and leads really well into our forum the following friday where we will be collaborating with TCPP to plan our community campaigns in support of menstrual health and gendered health care.

18/10/2023

Save the date!! Our first book club of the term, held in the SU lounge 6-7pm on Monday 30th Oct. It’ll be a chill space for feminist discussion sparked by the chosen book (watch this space!). We really don’t want to put more pressure on anyone to read more than our degrees are already asking…. so feel free to skim the first few pages or just come along for a chat! See you there :)

On the 22nd of November, we are gathering in a relaxed space to share our living experiences, concerns, and ideas about the disciplinary procedures within the Collegiate University. We hope to centre survivors by creating and imagining spaces where students can put forward their demands safety and help make DRAG ( disciplinary reform action group) forums accessible. While this is not a space to discuss confidential disclosures within the group, this will be attended by the sabbatical Women's Officer, Welfare and Communities Officer, and the Student Advice Service to offer a listening ear and signposting to support if needed.

This event is open to all student members even if you do not identify with the campaign. We will be following the Women's Campaign safe space policy and reserve the right to remove people from this space.

Our third term is dedicated to issues affecting postgraduates. PG issues are too often overlooked. If you're a postgrad that wants to bring any issues or discussion points to our attention, that's great! All our agendas are open to our student members, and any point can be added in advance. Looking forward to seeing you there...

Love and solidarity,
The Women's Campaign

Come join us at our introductory forum this Wednesday in the SU Lounge! There will be free vegan/ gluten-free pizza and a community space to discuss what feminism means to us in the context of Cambridge and beyond. We have such an exciting series of forums this year that give space to rant and plan/ organise our campaign work. Any student member of womcam can bring a policy, action motion, or question to hold our Women's Officer and committee accountable to their constituents. The minutes will be available afterwards on our website. If you would like to add a point to the agenda, message us!
