These free sessions start with the mentors giving a brief 3–5-minute presentation, a couple question from Jim and our CUE President David Quan as Co-Host, before the floor is completely open to the audience! We encourage anyone interested in entrepreneurship, or are already involved business, to engage directly with our mentors!

Since 1999, CUE has been supporting and accelerating business innovation and entrepreneurship, and providing training for hundreds of students, staff and alumni. We have traditionally hosted four competitions annually: £100 for 100 words, the £2k competition, the £10k competition and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. As a result, we have awarded over £600,000 in prize money to more than 60 start-ups and have seen many of them develop into successful companies. These companies have contributed greatly to the local region and beyond, raising over £250 million of investment and producing over 500 full-time jobs!

Having grown up in Xi'an, China, and Adelaide, Australia, David studies BA (Hons) Education at Clare College, University of Cambridge, UK, as a Cambridge Trust Scholar. David represents the University on the Blues basketball team, and plays the plastic trombone for several musical ensembles, including the Cambridge University Brass Band. Having served as Equalities Officer of The Cambridge Union, Deputy Head of Policy of The Wilberforce Society, Deputy Lifestyle Editor of Varsity, and a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs in London, David is also President of The Cambridge Student Investment Fund, a Trustee of The Cambridge SU, and host of his 'Coffee's on Me, David Quan 权丁文' podcast. Our Story
Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) was founded in 1999. Two decades later, it has evolved to a key part of the University's entrepreneurial ecosystem, promoting and nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation in among students in Cambridge. It is a student-run society, and its main focus is to host the CUE Business Creation Competitions, awarding over £500k to more than 45 start-ups ranging from technology, software and web, to social enterprise, with the financial support from ARM, Horizon Discoveries, EPSRC, Redgate, Mills and Reeve, Cambridge Angels and Taylor Vinters. Collectively, these companies have contributed greatly to the local region, securing over £100 million in investment, and producing over 110 full time jobs. As a part of the competition, CUE also provides free business training, mentoring, networking events, which are always spoken highly of by our competition entrants, friends, and the local entrepreneurial community.
