A recent survey of 1,220 families shed light on their decision for choosing to home-educate rather than face-to-face learning.

The reasons provided for choosing to home-educate were primarily due to mental health and SEND concerns and fear of fines for low attendance. However, this survey highlighted that 90% were happy to continue home educating, stating that their child seemed "happier" and that their "mental health had much improved".

A common question we receive is how to sit your exams when attending an online school. We do not provide an exam centre; however, students can easily find a local centre that accepts private candidates for sitting their exams.

We provide further assistance on our online learning platform for finding an exam centre closer to the time.

Ofsted is planning an inclusion 'criterion' with the help of charities to understand how best to support vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils including those with SEND.

They aim to focus on evaluating whether schools are providing high-quality support to ensure every child is provided with the resources they need to learn.

There are less than 10 weeks to go until 2024: , which is taking place from Monday 11th to Friday 15th November. The Anti-Bullying Alliance have created everything you need – entirely free of charge – to help you get ready to choose respect in your school/setting:

❤️School Packs: Resources for primary and secondary schools which include lesson plans, films, cross-curricular ideas, and assembly plans. These school packs are focused on developing children’s understanding of respect, including how to disagree respectfully.

🥳Odd Socks Day Pack: Odd Socks Day is taking place on Tuesday 12th November. We have a school pack with an assembly plan ready to go – alongside an amazing song and video from Andy and the Odd Socks currently in the making!

🥳Parents and Carers Pack: A tool to help parents and carers have conversations with their children about bullying.

This year highlighted a huge rise in students receiving three A* grades in their A-Level results, up 50% from last year. The rise of A* grades also rose by 8% this year.

KS2 SATs have seen a slight improvement in reading and writing in 2024 since the pandemic.

While the attainment is not yet back to pre-pandemic high, it is evident that we are on the right track. A key factor to continued improvement is to ensure every child is receiving the support they need for their individual learning requirements.
