St Mary Bredin, Canterbury
We are a Charismatic Evangelical Anglican church, seeking to make Christ known in Canterbury
As the family of God here at SMB we hope to be a church with open doors where people of all ages, young and old, are welcome and able to meet with God. We hope you might join us at one of our Sunday services, to get a feel for who we are and to give us the opportunity to welcome you in person.
We’re so excited to celebrate with Joy she gets ordained on the 29th June at Canterbury Cathedral. Join her there or watch online at 2.30pm.
If you can’t make it, we’ll have cake to celebrate after the morning service on Sunday 30th 🥳 Everyone’s welcome!
Tomorrow! 🎉🎉
Hot drinks and squash, home made cakes and biscuits, toys and lovely friends.. see you there!
THIS MONDAY…SEE YOU THERE! 🥳
Family Fun Day is back! We can’t wait to see you! 🍔🎨✍️🏰🎯☀️
Pentecost
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:1-4
Heavenly Father, Creator God, who formed humanity from dust, breathe in me again. Revive me and sanctify me by the power of Your Spirit. Set my heart on fire with the good news of Your gospel. Come Holy Spirit. Amen

Jesus, thank you for the example of your life, the incredible love demonstrated through your death on the cross, the victory won through your resurrection from the tomb, and for the power released through your ascension into heaven and the sending of Your Spirit. Hari Budha Magar 🏔️
A former Corporal in the British Army’s legendary Gurkha regiment, Hari lost both of his legs in Afghanistan in 2010. In 2018 he successfully overturned a ban on disabled climbers climbing Everest at the Supreme Court in Nepal. Last year, he was the first ever double above-knee amputee to summit Everest 8,849m.
Our Seniors group, Meeting Point, have the pleasure of meeting Hari and hearing his inspirational story this Thursday here at SMB. Come for 12pm and stay for a tasty homemade soup lunch afterwards.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Our Women's Ministry celebrated Christmas in style earlier this month and had the chance to say a huge thank you to Sarah who is moving away in January. We're so grateful for Sarah's vision and energy for the ministry this past year and wish her and the family a blessed move back to South Africa.
The ladies next meet on Saturday 20th January, more details to follow!
We're excited to be running the Alpha Course here at SMB starting on Wednesday 24th January.
Alpha is a chance to ask the big questions and explore the Christian faith in a fun and relaxed environment.
It runs for 11 weeks but turning up on the first week and seeing what you think is absolutely fine! It's free (with a delicious meal!) and there's no obligation.
You may have questions yourself, or have a friend or family member who'd like to know more but isn't ready to come to a Sunday service.
You can find out more on our website smb.org.uk/courses.
