Last month, we hosted the practical sessions for the EiSMART Infant Course.
Our children’s centre was full of smiles and it was incredible to see what the families and participating therapists could achieve together in just three days!
Ruby and Travis (pictured) learned to sit with less support when playing on the floor, and Ruby enjoyed her first tastes of solid foods.
We hope that the course participants enjoyed their time with us, and we look forward to starting the next EiSMART Infant Course in October.

We had a wonderful time in our beach themed Better Start Together play group last earlier on this month! 🏖️
We started off the session with singing and signing to introduce ourselves before taking turns to roll a beach ball back and forth.
After this, we played with a parachute, stimulating the feeling of wind on our faces.
To finish off the session, we took turns picking up toy ducks from a bowl of water and experimented with free play in water and sand stations!
We would like to say a big congratulations and thank you to the incredible Andrei, who has raised £1571.77, by climbing the equivalent of the Empire State Building’s 102 floors!
Described by his parents as a ‘true fighter and an inspiration', Andrei was told by doctors that he would never walk independently, but he refused to accept this. Now at 11, Andrei can sustain over 20 steps and even manage turns!
Andrei chose to support us as he attended our centre when he was younger and wanted to help make a difference!

Thank you to Irwin Mitchell for sponsoring this event.
We can't wait to see you all there! 🤗
On Tuesday, we welcomed Rotary Club of Cardiff, Llanishen to our children's centre to see our Eye Gaze system in action.
Llanishen Rotary Club kindly gifted this eye gaze system to us earlier this year, and it will make a huge difference to the children attending our children's centre who have more complex needs.
"Some children who attend our children's centre use their eyes as the most effective way to communicate" explains Helen, our Speech & Language Therapist. "However this is a skill which requires practise. The provision of the eye gaze unit has been very much welcomed to replace our outdated machines. The iPad and eye gaze camera is much more portable than our old systems and it's portable so it can be used in our children's centre or taken on outreach to support children in single consultation blocks. Thank you Llanishen Rotary Club for helping us give these children a voice."
We would like to say an enormous thank you to Brian who recently completed a sky dive to raise over £1,000 for us! 🪂
Harri, pictured here with Brian, has been accessing our specialist early intervention service ‘Better Start Better Future’ since the start of the year, and regularly attends our ‘Better Start Together’ play group.
Brian wanted to do something memorable for his 80th birthday, and decided to fundraise at the same time to say thank you for the support that Harri and his family have received from us over the past year.
Diolch by fawr iawn Brian!
Check out the video from his sky dive in the comments below! 👇 🪂
