Meet the very handsome Shadow who came into CP after he was sadly found straying lost and alone. For this reason we do not know much about what type of home he lived in before and if he would want to live around other animals. Whilst he has been in foster care with us he has been very cuddly and affectionate. He has also not shown any interest in going outside, and is very happy being indoors in the warmth with cuddles so we would consider an indoor home for him. We would like to find him a quiet home with a patient owner who can spend the time with him to bring his confidence out. Can his forever home be with you? xx
Shadow has been diagnosed with plasma cell pododermatitis, also known as βpillow-footβ, which causes the paw pads to become squishy or doughy. However, it is not painful or transmissible and does not affect the cat's quality of life. Weβre often not sure what the underlying cause is. It can be associated with FIV and FeLV however Shadow is negative for both of these viruses. Shadow has shown a good response to treatment. In the majority of cats it will fully resolve with treatment, like Shadow! However, flare-ups are possible in the event of stress for example, and these are normally treated with steroids. We can discuss pododermatitis further with you when you apply to adopt him!
If you are interested in adopting Shadow, please fill in the contact form on our website: https://www.cats.org.uk/cardiff/adopt-a-cat/?cid=381492

Do you recognise this cat? Is he your pet?
A member of the public is kindly feeding him at the moment, as we believe he might be a stray - but we want to make sure before we can take him into our care. He's seen regularly in the alleyway that links Richmond Road to Gordon Road in Roath, Cardiff.
Neighbours have advised students may of belonged to him, but they left in August - he is not microchipped. If you have any information about this sweet ginger cat , please get in touch.

Rescued Mum & Kittens! π
We were contacted by a member of the public of a Mum and four kittens dumped near some outbuildings. We managed to capture Mum and two of her babies straight away, one kitten had sadly died from the cold and the other was missing. Wendy our TNR (trap, neuter, return) volunteer didnβt give up on the missing kitten β it was caught on camera and was trapped safely and rescued.
Thank you to Wendy for her continued hard work and care for cats, and Cat Protection Bridgend Adoption Centre for taking the Mum and kittens into their care. They will be ready for adoption once they are all fit and healthy.
