Once a town house for Lady Mary Calverley, who demolished part of the city rows to replace it with the first building in Chester to be built in the classical style in 1676. Throughout the next couple of hundred years, the house was owned by an attorney general before being used as a school, a club, offices and as shops – as you can tell, its uses have been diverse and interesting, making it the perfect setting for an Oddfellows style restoration 💫

We took this beautiful building and through an award winning conversion, created a boutique hotel that is magical, whimsical and charming, keeping our guests curious by retelling our building’s many magical stories through our quirky and playful interiors and revived lustre ✨
