We were pleased to give a donation of £500 to Saughall All Saints primary school. This was a contribution towards coach travel for the SAS dance squad to the national finals of the Big Dance Off in Oxford on Wednesday 19th June. A very talented and enthusiastic group of over 40 year 5/6 pupils.

Rotary Club of Saughall president Julia Blakeman had the pleasure of presenting certificates and prizes to children from Saughall All Saints Primary who recently took part in the Rotary Young Environmentalist competition. Pictured below receiving their awards are picture 1 highly commended, picture 2 runners up, picture 3 individual entry winner and picture 4 group entry winners. They all did an amazing job and the winning entries were forwarded to the national competition. Well done everyone!

What a fabulous night at our murder mystery event. We had many detectives- Vera, Columbo, Sherlock Holmes and a squad of police officers to name just a few. Thanks to everyone who took part, helped behind the scenes and bought tickets. A lot of laughs were had!

THE VERNON INSTITUTE GOES PURPLE

October is Purple for Polio month highlighting Rotary’s pledge to eradicate Polio worldwide - check out the facts sheet below
Monday October 24th is World Polio Day

Purple is chosen because when children have had their vaccination a purple dye is dabbed on their fingernail. With huge numbers passing through this makes identification easier, and of course as the children are rewarded with sweets it also stops them returning for more
