Chester Regatta a cooperative effort by all the Chester rowing clubs, GRC, RCRC, QPHSRC, KSCBC, REX & Uni of Chester. Run entirely by volunteers, including the umpires, our aim is to provide a fun, exciting regatta on the splendid river Dee, one of the very best rivers to row on. Free to spectators. The Regatta Ground is at Sandy Lane Park. Note: car park closed all day: used solely for competitor

Thanks to all the 19 clubs, crews, coaches who entered Chester Regatta, established 1733 ensuring we had a fantastic competition with some races down to a canvas & even an umpire bow ball call!
We’re hugely grateful to the 19 umpires + army of volunteers who made the racing possible & run to time!
A great day was had and we’re already planning the next one.

We hope you enjoyed it and will be back next year for more. Keep those mixed Masters 8+ training sessions going and maybe next time the ‘Southport Seasiders’ will steal the Kings Coronation Cup

Our Story
Chester Regatta a cooperative effort by all the Chester rowing clubs, GRC, RCRC, QPHSBC, KSCRC and RexBC. Run entirely by volunteers, including the umpires, our aim is to provide a fun, exciting regatta on the splendid river Dee, one of the very best rivers to row on. We are the Oldest rowing Regatta in the World (est 1733), predating Henley Regatta by over 100 years. We hope you’ll join us for some exciting racing at our next Regatta Saturday 8th June 2019.
The Regatta Ground is at Sandy Lane Park CH3 5UL - limited parking here. All competitors and spectators must park at Bishops High School on Vaughans Lane (CH3 5XF) only 5 minutes walk to the Regatta Ground through a pedestrian / cycle path, see map on our website. Please do not park in Walmoor Park on pain of death.
Depending on entries, racing will start at 9am and end around 6pm. Hot & cold food & drink served all day. The main Prize Giving with the Lord Mayor of Chester as Admiral of the Dee usually starts around 4pm.
Sponsors are always welcome and in 2017 included Aaron & Partners LLP Solicitors, Pro-Networks Ltd, Meacher-Jones Accountants, Morris & Co Accountants, Rofft Developments 2000 Ltd.
